Matching Inlets - what to use as a guide?

Si

Car  RS Clio 172
Hi :D

I have aquired an inlet mani off of a very kind northern friend of mine with a broken tb'd 172 :(;)

I'm looking at matching them all i need to know is what to use as a guide? I've read that holes in the gasket are larger than required so they can only be used as a rough guide, would that do?

Sorry i haven't searched but i'm in a hurry as it's lunch time. lol.

Cheers.

Could you not put engineer's blue on the head and machine out the mani with a dremel?

Plenum the same?

iirc the plenum doesn't need doing?

also i'm not sure if blueing it up would be clear enough. wouldn't transfer that well surely?

If i were to use a gasket as a guide does anyone know roughly how much bigger the orifices in the gasket are in comparison to the inlets in the mani?
