Maybe a daft question! (Harnesses)

Hi, fancy getting a set of harnesses for my car. Already got a 172 interior and dont want to change that. So is it safe to have harnesses with normal seats or not? Borrowed some before and loved them but want to be sure they are actually a benefit before forking out for them!

Yeah but he had proper buckets as well. I vaguly remember someone saying that with normal seats they can be more dangerous but I could be imagining it!

Certainly feel safer with well set up harnesses, hopefully never have to find out!

Harnesses can be a pain in an everyday car as your movement is so restricted. Ive got them in my track escort but wouldnt want them in a road car.

Some people say they are dangerous if you dont have a cage fitted due to the harnesses holding you in an upright position. If you roll the car and the roof comes down you are unable to move your head or body and could possibly suffer head or neck injuries.

I wouldnt bother with Harnesses you cannot use them for day to day very easily a normal seat belt is much easier and probbley safer at slow speeds as you can move round it it to see whats behind you etc.

I ran harnesses in my Cup everyday - you just get used to them.

They are ok to be used to with normal seats too, but id prefer buckets

I love my harnesses, wouldnt cahnge them for a seat belt (dont feel safe with seat belts!). Seem to work fine on normal seats but will be better with my buckets.

Ps go 60!!! ;)
