met maz today, and had a good look around the car. Turns out it is pretty much mint ( not a single mark on it!) and runs just as it should. No knocks, no excess tapping, nothing!

Poor lad just appears to have kicked himself in the foot as to any chance of selling it though through the way he described it!

Posting treads wasn't a good idea. But originally all i wanted, is to compare my engine sound to any RS. Edewer' clio and another 182 at the Ilford dealers sounds same as mine.

I Wouldn't normally join in but after emailing him as I Would of been interested possibly but...

He wants £2.5k.

Well he's told me the engine has a funny tappety noise and third gear crunches slightly. It's on near enough 100k miles. OK it has some decent mods but for a grand more (cost of a gearbox rebuild, clutch and a service) you could get a really nice Cup.

I hate it when people think there mods add ££££'s to the value of their car just because they're selling it to an enthusiast!

i would say in most circumstances thats true, but when you have a car with the most popular "sheep" mods fitted and some that people genuinely want, it may help you to get a little extra.

I know what you mean but when the car needs work it's going to cost x amount to sort out when you could just get a decent low mileage one in the first place.

but thats the problem you were having no? you couldnt find one in the first place low mileage and the price you wanted to pay. the price you wanting to pay was alot less than book already, and due to the way cs.net is, it seems like thats the norm.
