Hi, needing some advise/help.

The other half has got a Megane 265 and for a while it’s had a weird rotational noise, long story short got it on a ramp and found the bearing support clamp bolt for the offside driveshaft had come loose.

Did that up, noise had gone happy days. But now a couple of days later the noise is back so I’m assuming the same has happened again.
Is this a common problem with meganes? Im assuming the bearing has failed or starting too.
New driveshaft time or can you get the bearing separate?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Cheers

Now you mention it, mine was loose last time I spanner checked it.
I'd assume that I'd left it loose after changing the shafts previously - but I guess not if you've seen hers do the same.

Any bearing shop will be able to get a replacement, but obviously you'll need the size.
Clio ones are available online, but I'm not too certain that they'll be the same: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/39531633...n6q2eK6GfaiVtoATekfz97eF-DPaOer4aAmIhEALw_wcB

Is it just the circlip you take out to remove that bearing?

Bit more than that, Mark Black had the heat gun and lump hammer out when I had mine replaced.

Didn’t fix my whine either, still there now. I just live with it until something breaks 😂

I replaced the support bearing on my 175, it was a wheel bearing in the end

All the bearings got done and it was still whining. The gearbox bearings were completely shagged.

Good luck! 😂

That’s what mine will be, also had the wheel bearings done. What did it cost you for the gearbox?

Fixed it 🤦‍♂️ I serviced it the other week took the wheels off etc and the offside front bolt holes look like and felt like they’d been in the sea.
When I’ve rushed to put the wheel on (it startec pissing with rain) the torque wrench has clicked with the resistance of the corrosion and not when the wheel was seated and tight. It wasn’t enough to feel when shaken side to side but obviously enough to move about while driving.
