Michelin Pilot Sport 3

  UR R26R.5, VW Golf R
Just got a set of 4 for the 182 @ £450 fitted.

I thought I'd try Kwik Fit with them having a 25% off all tyres, but it was still coming to nearly £600 fitted even with the discount.

Camskill. Sorted. Being only 5 minutes away helps, but they really are one of the best in the country for tyres and very knowledgeable to boot.
They even knew they had replaced the Exalto II, which was quite interesting. Most places don't have a f*cking clue about anything.

Oh, and initial impressions of the Sport 3 are superb.

Still one of the best on the market from what I hear. Camskill are fantastic I must say.

I bought 4 from them the other week, great service, great tyres. And easily the cheapest place on the net.

Yeah, they can sell them cheap because of the turnaround they generate. They recently bought £50k worth of Bridgestones knowing fine well they'd sell them all for a massive profit, even on the cheap. Impressive.

We've just brought a set of these for my partners 172 from Camskill... She had Pilot Exalto 2's on it previously.

The PE2's have lasted her 4 years / 30,000miles... I couldn't beleive it!!

You pay a little more for them, but they are amazing tyres.

I'm putting 4 of these on the R32.

I know a guy who knows a guy, 225/40/18 £100 each :p

I paid £280 for my ps3's for a set as I work in the tyre trade and they was the best mod I done to my 182 for sure

Epic tyres. I had them on the 182.

As soon as the 200's in need of tyres, I'll be buying them again!

Do you guys ever just go to a normal garage and ask them to price match? I do it everytime

Yep, I go to HiQ and they price match camskill or whoever is cheapest everytime. Saves me the hassle of them being delivered to me, drive in drive out, simple :approve:

I've got them on mine, keep telling people on here when they ask 'what tyres should I buy'. You can't beat them.

They are certainly better than the Rainsport 2 (which is excellent BTW), they have a little more steering feel.
Not as good as the PE2 though, softer sidewalls the cause apparently.
They can also "look" flat at times even with 32 psi in them!

i had ps3's and now gone to rainsports.

rainsports better in the wet as expected and ps3 better in the dry.

This is the most stupid thing i have ever heard..... although i do totally agree with it. I always have to check mine sometimes because it looks low, usually drivers side but its always fine.

Mine were £194 per side fitted 225/35/18

I love Michelin tyres you can't beat them IMO, and they last ages!

A few people on the Trophy forum have also reported this. I think it is usually on uneven ground but can also appear that way when viewed from a certain angle. I parked for fuel once and it looked like they were melting on the floor! They drove perfectly and had about 33 psi. It's the fronts btw. Softer sidewall perhaps?

I am a Michelin fan but PS3s don't turn in as well as PE2s and in some tests have struggled to get beyond mid table results. I'm probably going to downsize to 15s and PE2s.
