I went to turkey and got 3 months for £17.99 from cdkeys but I'll probably do the long way when it runs out.

Are there any more modern games like Fusion Frenzy, sat down on the weekend with the kids and we had a right laugh playing it.

So single screen party games really. I couldn't find anything

I did some pre-dev work for Fusion Frenzy back in the day, whilst working for the Oliver Twins.
Explain pre-dev work for me?

If its design my kids have had plenty of arguments over choosing games to play so I can ask for their feedback 😋

Pre-dev (pre-development) is just a very early period before any official designs are drawn up to make the game. Ideas and concepts can be realised and demonstrated to prove game mechanics, puzzle ideas, etc. There is also the technical aspect, as in familiarising with new tech (the Xbox was a new console at the time and due to be released, Fuzion Frenzy being one of the first releases on launch day). In a nutshell, a bit of time to "play" (albeit in a focused manner) before the serious work starts in putting together an agreed development plan and strategy. (y)

So rather than using Google and confusing myself 😂
What's the best options for getting my young lads Xbox online to allow him to play with his school friends.
Minecraft, Fortnite, EA24 etc
Game pass, live gold etc.
Cheers

I'd recommend going for game pass unlimited.

What I posted in the original thread still works but the ratio has changed so if you buy 3 years of gold (or iirc core is the same thing) it will convert to 2 years of unlimited now rather than 3 years like it used to.

Still a cracking deal, he can play online, get the full game pass library which includes EA games and minecraft plus a lot more. Only con is I don't think they ever inc the latest sports games, only the previous years.

Not sure I'd do this again or if it was worth the effort. Using bing rewards to get 3 months free game pass.

I did the points thing, got enough for 2 years of GP and topped up to 3 when I renewed last time.

Then I gave up, became a chore and I just hated doing it. I'm sure I'll regret that come renewal 🤣

That's mental lol how come you aren't spending them and how long has that taken?
Probably going to get a new Xbox for free LOL, been doing it for quite a few years and hardly used any points, just keep piling them on.

I've been playing Mafia the definive edition. Think it's a remake of the first game which I played back on the 360. Can't remember any of it but it's a worth while game to play through imo.

Is that the one with the insanely difficult car race?

I honestly can't remember and I've not got to that point yet but they definitely emphasise driving in the game and you can test drive any car on a circuit from the main menu (carcyclopedia).

Mine was due to expire in January, no way I was paying the "new" price. (n)

Did some looking around to see what my options were, you can still buy codes at the older price, for now, so I took the plunge and stacked up to the maximum of 3 years using codes from Loaded (aka CD Keys).

This has now given me Gamepass Ultimate until mid Sept 2028 for the princely sum of £319.39 (with some cashback), that's 32 months' worth bought, so just under a tenner a month, it will never be this cheap again sadly.

The converting Gold / Core trick of previous years is now a terrible conversion rate and works out more expensive than the way I just did it, I have had 6 years of very cheap Gamepass Ultimate access so far, but that ship has sailed... 😐

As in converting Gold / Core?

Yes but it's shiiiiiite now, the conversion rate makes it not worth doing.

I remember doing it for my son not long back, bought 3 years of core plus 1 month ultimate and it worked out less than 18months of GPU.

  A terrible one
I bought 3m off whatever CD Keys is called now for about £12per month last week so the lower price was still available.

I've decided to not renew, mine expires mid next year, and it will be cheaper to just buy games when I want them going forward for the amount I play. Plus the library hasn't changed massively over the years, a great buy when I started this thread but less so now.

Plus I've given in and migrated to PS5 for most stuff now, of my few friends that do game, none use an Xbox any more.

Xbox is dead, I'm sad, the controller is still way better than PS in terms of ergonomics but that's not enough to keep me.

I reckon it’s the final nail in the coffin for Xbox sadly. Considering you can play Xbox games on the PS now.

I put on a year using the EA pass conversation recently so at least I'm good for a while. Honestly probably won't renew either almost contemplated not bothering for this year as I don't really benefit much from it but was cheap enough to do it anyway.

Gone up in price hasn't it?

But get Ubisoft games chucked in?

What am I missing?
The Ubisoft games are old games that can be bought for a few quid each outright.

Potentially useful if you are heavily into Fortnite. But then you are paying a premium on other non-Fortnite stuff that never gets a look in. I am struggling to see the value or positives. I think a lot of folks will wind up their subscriptions.

I think I’m MS perfect fit for game pass, prices are going up everywhere, looking at Netflix, Apple TV etc I don’t think MS are doing something everyone isn’t.

I’m not really into playing the latest and greatest games and if one takes my fancy I’ll buy it, but game pass doesn’t force me to play that game because that is where I invested £50 that month. It also broadens my gaming experience, lets me experience different genres with no commitment if I don’t fancy it. The games rotate often, always something new to try and the library is endless.

Then the plus side Me and the boy can dip in and out of games whenever we want, he can have a 10 minute play see if he likes them with cloud gaming before I bother installing anything. If not we just try another.

I can’t think of a price I wouldn’t pay for it tbh.

Top example of game pass tonight.

It is my birthday so me and the kids, 5, 9 and 17 sat down to have a gaming night. Not an easy thing to find something that kept them all entertained.

Over 2 hours we played and for zero extra expenditure we played
Minecraft Dungeons
Rabbids party of legends
Stumble guys
Odd ballers
Moving out 2
TNMT shredders revenge

100% value for money and all three have asked to do it again which I was not expecting.

I cancelled mine yesterday for a while - realised I hadn't touched it for 7 months.

I'll see if I miss it I guess.
