Mini detail...interrupted by rain!

  Ollie's Silver Cup
Well I went out this afternoon with the intention of giving the cup a detail of sorts, and getting some winter protection on there. I wasn't sure whether this is best in clio media or the detailing section, so apologies if it's best placed elsewhere ;)

Started, as usual, with the ph neutral snow foam! Diluted 50ml and away we go;

After sitting for a few minutes;

And with all the foam removed using a pressure washer;

Next, all each wheel was sprayed with bilberry wheel cleaner and left to do it's thing for a few minutes;

And, one by one, the dirt/brake dust was agitated with an Autoglym 'hi-tech' wheel brush; I've found this brush great for cleaning the 2118's tbh!

And again, pressure washed off;

Next up, it was cleaned using dodo juice supernatural shampoo and a dodo juice supernatural wash mitt;

At this point, the biggest black cloud had moved overhead, so I thought best to pull it into the garage to dry it off, before I got rained on! Literally, as soon as I got into the garage it started pi**ing it down!

And that's where it's been left at the moment! The plan is continue tomorrow morning (with polish, wax, etc), assuming it's not raining! :eek:

I'll update this thread accordingly! :)

Thanks!

The lights need some work tbh, I think it's the lighting in the garage that's making them appear in better condition than they are.

I'm wanting to replace them with xenons as soon as possible really though, so I probably won't both sorting them!

I do need to sort the hubs and wheel nuts though, as they let it down big time! I'm wanting the iridescent finished wheel nuts I think and then just tidy up the hubs :)

love this car! The wheels and cf touches work so well.

Thank you :) I sometimes think about adding a bright colour to it somewhere, but I do like the subtleness...

I look forward to following this up tomorrow. Great work so far :)

The weather looks alright at the moment, so fingers crossed it stays that way the rest of the morning! :eek:

Why thank you! :D

Looking good.

Cheers! :)

Always love seeing this, one of me faves

Thank you!

same here (as above)

Thanks!

Silver Cup? Lovely :)

Yes, it's a silver cup :)

The cup badges gradually fell off the doors :eek: lol!

Love this car, it just looks effortlessly clean!

That's what I like about having a silver car; it's pretty easy to keep it looking clean :)

Also love this car

:D

So, as the weather was good this morning, I carried on where I left off yesterday!

Autoglym super resin polish applied;

And buffed off, giving a pretty good result I think;

I usually use dodo juice supernatural wax, but I have very little left, so I picked up an Autoglym HD from Halfords a week or so ago. I think this is the first time I've used this on the iceberg.

Really happy with the results, and considering it's a fair bit cheaper than the dodo supernatural wax too :) I applied two coats using the supplied applicators.

A nice reflection shot;

I love how iceberg almost glows at times in the sun when cleaned up!

And then, just a couple in front of a wall :clown:

Nice, I envy your garage space, i have a single garage, but i dont think if i got my car in there (im doing it up at the moment) i would have the space to polish around :(

Thanks! :)

Re the garage, it's not too bad if you pull over to one wall, then move it over! I've polished in there once or twice, when I've been half way through and it's started raining, but it's not fun! lol!

Looks bloody brilliant. I REALLY need a wax. Since owning mine, it's never been waxed (sorry Daniel).

I'm going to give mine it's winter clean on tuesday as long as the weather holds out. Titanium FTW ;)
