mk2 ph1 172 head lights how much ?

  Clio_Smart
I want to buy the head light off of a mk2 ph1 172 as i have a mk2 ph1 RN and updated it. How much am i looking at for a pair.

i paid £40 for a pair off ebay, but i think i got lucky with the price, you also have to bear in mind its not a straight swap and you will need some wiring done -there are more bulbs

£40 what a bargain i really want some that is the 3rd thing ill need to complete my car.

Wht wiring will need to be done and how many more bulbs is the wiring easy ?

Theres one on ebay but i would like to buy a pair now i was thinking around the £50 mark for a set ?

the lights you have use one bulb for the headlight and the full beam, the twin optics use one bulb for head, one for full, i was lucky enough to get a portion of the light wiring loom and just spliced the correct wires together, but its best to add a fuse to one of the circuits i think, but iv had no problems at all, im sure someone will post some info on that at some point, there might even be a thread on this already if you do a search for 'dual optics'

£70 -£80s more likely to be honest - i got lucky cos they were finishing during the world cup final - dont think anyone was on ebay then lol

Yea very true but if i get told what to do on here ill print off and do step by step lol.

First things first finding a set ?

They make a clio look so much better

Yea i think its a must have make the mk2 ph1 look very nice and plus if the clio is already modded.

the performance increase is great too, better than the single optics, iv been lookin forward to winter eversince i fitted em!

The wiring is simple really high beam to H7 bulb and earth, low beam to hb3 bulb and earth. You also need to add red fuse in the fusebox to make them stay on together.

Is it easy to add the fuse and i take it run a cable to the board as well.

Seems hard to find these lights.

If it isnt to much trouble could someone pm a exactly what i ahve to do to get them all up and running thanks. like a step by step guide.

Thanks

thats pretty much all you need mate, get a haynes manual for the wiring diagram, and your tool kit and it should be an hours job tops

The wiring is already there for the box you just need to slot the fuse in, I cant remember which position it is off hand. The clio already has 3 wires either side 1 earth 1 high and 1 low. All you need to do is split the earth off into 2 for 2 bulbs, then wire the high to the h7 bulb and earth and wire the low to the hb3 bulb and earth. Its a lot easier than it sounds Ive got a wiring diagram somewhere if your not sure which wire is which.

the fuse to fit is as follows - open the fuse box, its the top row and the right hand side socket, pop a red fuse in and bingo! massive illumination! cheers davebem! never actually knew that! iv been using seperare highs/lows! woo
