Mk2 Ph3 Clio Wheel Well Cleanup

Felt like being a bit of a perfectionidt today so went and cleaned under the spare tyre in my mk2 ph3 Clio Extreme.

Its obvious that at some point water has made its way in here as evidently there is a bit of rust bubbling in some spots. I used a bottle of warm soapy water and an old towel for cleaning thsi up and Im happy with how its turned out.

Interesting to see the original blue tinge the paint had when the car was new, it looks a lot more grey now after 20 years in the sun.

It was nice to discover the spare wheel is fitted with a Continental which actually appears to have no cracks in the rubber.

Anyone know what those grey rectangular sticky patches are for, let me know if you have any idea 👍.

The grey bits are to protect the face of the wheel and the boot floor. Metal on metal will scratch.

That’s about as good as you’ll get colour wise. They weren’t painted from factory. Only bits of overspray from when the shell was first painted.

Good work. Now get your wheels off and arch liners out and clean all that up. See you in a few weeks. 😂👌🏽

Need some axle stands or driveway ramps first, then that'll be my next job 😉. Thanks for the info on those sticky patches, makes a lot of sense now I think about it 😅.
