Mk3 1.6 Dynamique s's

  Focus, GSXR1000 & R6
I have one!

TBH I think after a type R its going to feel gutless!

I like mine alot, its great fun on a nice road and you don't have the worry of finding yourself miles over the speed limit.

Would a 172 not be an option? Surely cheaper to run then type R

Not much experience with them... I mainly get the Clio III in 1.5DCi flava through my doors but they're pretty nippy, good on fuel and not too bad on tax either. I think SidewaysDanny had good things to say about the 1.6 16v in these in a previous thread(?)

Yeah it was mine Danny liked!

Mines not had much done to it, but its not completely standard, so I don't know how it compares to one.

According to the trip computer I get anything between 34 to 40 mpg depending on how I drive and the type of journey I am taking.

It was around £85 to tax for 6 months.

The newer VVC K4M's don't seem to do as well as the older non-VVC units did on fuel. I get 36-38 nailing my Scenic about which is pointless cos it doesn't exactly move faster, it just makes more noise :p If I drive it normally and keep it below 5k rpm I see 42mpg or more on long trips up and down the M1 at 70-75.

I just about saw over 40 doing a 120 mile motorway run at a steady 70mph!!

Mine has been remapped though - I bought it like that so I can't comment on how it was before

my mrs has a mk2 one and her sis a mk3 one, nice refined engine for about town however doesnt have the power to warrant the terrible fuel consumption, the mk2 does 38mpg on a decent run, the same as my 172 and the mk3 is worse.

if your coming from something quick, go for something cheap to run to make up for the loss in performance like a DCi, if you get the 1.6 you will save maby 25% with 50% less fun!, better having 50% less fun and saving 75% ;)
