Mk3 Mirror Caps

Trying to remove one of them at the moment, parts monkey says put a screwdriver in any of the gaps, however the trim is pretty soft when faced with a metal screwdriver.

Is there any technique to it or partic. part of it that pops it off?

yeah, still it seems like the trim surrounding it moves more than the cover itself!
