ok so managed to get the boot build fully in the car and wired up today and gave her a scrub finaly, only managed to get a good clean and dry wasnt enough time for a clay bar and wax etc as the weather is shite but was shocked how well she came up with just auto glym shampoo paint works in better shape than i remember so hopefully ill get some decent weather this week and realy attack it but looks clean for now well heres the car as it stands now

wanting to start refurbing the wheels although they are gleaming as standard colour im not sure if to go white or a bit different and go black then repair then polish the rim to a mirror finish or mirror finish with a black rim???? bit of help needed i think.
also thinking of modifying some fiesta st seats (brackets) to fit in.

thanks. not yet mate still undecided which filter to go for between a k&n or a ktr one. boot was realy easy tried to keep the weight down using 6mm board and thin battonits only like 1inch thick at most but holds everythink in place properly.Looking good mate
Think the K&N one would be better cause they specialise in air filters don't they?

lmao thats what i had to say to the misses lol, i dont use the boot much anyways only for the shopping and my sub has quick release so i can remove it before i go takes a whole 30secs haha. going to have a crack on my headlights tomorrow morning like youv done and fix the misted one.

had another delivery today pitty it wasnt my exhaust but that will be on the way hopefully next week so k-tec tell me lol, it was my team heko wind deflectors i know not most peoples taste i think they look good plus i have got them for a bit of purpose. still alot of plans left on the car and there changing constantly finding it hard to keep one image of what i want in my head haha but hopefully you guys will help keep me on the right lines lol.

managed to de-miste the passenger side headlight was realy simple need a new seal cap for the main beam but managed to use a bit of electrical tape to botch the fuked one that the previous owner destroyd lol all i done was took the high beam bulb ,sidelight bulb and the indicator bulb (left the main beam bulb in and turned them on to add extra heat) then got a hair dyrer (full heat and power) blasted it into the holes where i had taken the bulbs out worked a treat. now all i have to do is restore the outer lens as it has the usual clio headlight problem there both pitted etc so ill tackle that tomorrow morning with some wet and dry and some compound then polish to give them some sort of protection to the elements.

sorry for the lack of progress been a bit slow on getting parts my exhaust arrived today was getting exited when i was opening it then to realise that it was the wrong backbox they sent a 172 backbox by accident and sent mine to some body in france so got to wait for the another 1 to arrive now gutted. also struggling to find a m16 bolt for the tow strap. and now i cant make my mind up to go for 1*2 interior or get some reclining buckets in the front maybe some help would be nice. going to start on my wheels next week got something a bit special in mind but depends on how good they are under the paint (not sure if they have every been refurbed in the past.

well been looking at the headlights all last week trying to decide what to do with them restore or get angels i know not to everybodys taste. well im going down the restore route my drivers side wasnt too bad just usual pitting and yellowing mainly around the indicator, the passenger side is being replaced completly as it keeps misting up even when i dry it out fix the seal think theres a crack somewhere i can see, anyways so out came the wet n dry and bought some maguires ultimate compound and heres how it went......
firstly here was how it looked before i attacked it
then masked around it so no accidental slip would mess up the paint
then a bit of elbow grease with 800 grit then 1500
800 grit forgot to take one of the 1500 but it was alot clearer
then used maguires ultimate compound with buffing pad attached to a drill not rich enuf for a real da but worked great
then hit over it with some autoglim high resin to seal it against the elements just a little
and removed all the tape and this was the end result

right well i got out today and gave the car a realy realy realy late winter prep clean haha used autoglym shampoo on her the wanted to get some scratches out of the bonnet so hit over it with some maggys ultimate compound (only the bonnet) then gave her a good wax using the wax out of the turtle wax black box, was supringly realy good car came out spotless found a few scratches i didnt know about but when the weather warms up ill get going with a real detail on it. ill post pics tomorrow and also got the plastic card out and ordered a few goodies so will be a good bit of progress in the next few days.

well that's kinda what im thinking of for the whole car something different but mainly using oem Renault parts, as my current are 15's id have to go with lower profile tyres wouldn't i so that it doesn't knock the speedo out?They're nice wheels. Would be subtle but different
had a delivery today had my rear exhaust mount arrive pitty ktec havent got the exhaust to me yet 5weeks now good job im patient lol, and my new skoda splitter arrived got a bit of i idea i might try with it but im going to keep that a secret for now lol.

bit more progress today manged to get my skoda splitter on and the trs tow strap before anybody says i didnt tighten it too much so if i do break down the aa man can get it off prety easy well heres how the car stands now not much left on the front just want to colour code the bump strips all round but going to wait till iv got all my bits on first.

i actualy forgot about plates think im going to wait thou as im after a private plate for it whats the difference between a standard plate and the 3/4?

cant wait to see what you do with the exhaust, havent seen this done before, remember to colour code the plastic trim at the back or it could look a bit strange.
regarding the 3/4 plate, standard size is 520mm x 111mm, and the 3/4 plate measures 390mm x 83mm, I thought this was a tad small so got a custom 520mm x 98mm so it fitted perfectly (check and you'll feel your front plate hanging over the edge).

thanks adam yeh think im going to go for the same size as yours where did you get it from if you dont mind me asking? and yeh all bump strips front rear and sides will be getting colour coded soon like i said just want to get all my bit first then think il have a crack at them myself if they turn out crap ill go spray shack on them or theres a spray shop not far from mine that are good on prices.

ok so just been on the phone to the insurance as i was looking at getting a thatcham toad alarm fitted and was told well that wont affect the insurance which i thaught at first was good untill she said it wouldnt lower it either, so point of my rant is why do they even bother asking you if you have a alarm system fitted to the car when you get your quote as it doesnt change the price. oh but she very nicly said if i was to crash the car they would retreive the alarm system for me lmao what a joke

exhaust sounds better mate once the engines warm iv got a ecu problem at the moment booked into renault next week for a new 1 thats y the idles everywhere ill upload a better vid next when its warmed up without the eratic idle plus found the center pipes blowing a lil as i tried to use the original bracket which is fucked which is getting sorted tomorrow had to get a new 1 so ill post a proper vid tomorrow when its not blowing and not idling between 500 and 2000 rpm lol

well i manged to get the exhaust to stop blowing yesterday was driving me crazy, its now a nice burble in the low revs and picks up into a raspy note after about 2500rpm then lift off around 4500rpm and it pops a little lol ill post a vid later on, going to tackle the engine top wiring loom after work get the old rotted one off then im just waiting on my replacement ecu to arrive so she should be running smooth as a babys ass lol not eratic idle and cuttimng out at lights lol

sorry no pics iv been busy since work fitted a new engine top wiring loom suprisingly prety easy just a pain getting the inlet mani off while i was there i took the throttle body off and cleaned it up with some carb cleaner was prety dirty tbh. finished started the car up and what happens my engine managment light has gone so much for i need a new 1 renault so thats 450 pound saved not letting renault touch the car lol. feels nice to drive again now no flat spots crazy idling cutting out at lights haha ill post a video tomorrow if i get chance for those who are waiting to hear the exhaust running properly. oh and i fitted a new gear knob suprisingly easy also attacked it witha hacksaw then a set of grips and off it came had to use a hammer thou to get the new 1 on lol.

so as some of your may have read i was considering doing a conversion to a 1.2 tce from the twingo gt but had a changed of mind and not looking at a throttle bodie set up prety much totaly built by myself got the bodie set up pretty much planned out but having great difficulty trying to find a standalone ecu to run it so if theres any clever kids out there a bit of advice would be alot of help.

well i know the bumpers a bit butchered not realy bothered as im after a 1*2 one anyways and want to reseat the exhaust slightly but its on vid is not great quality but gives you guys a rough idea what its like
