modify my clio!

  Motorbikes
hey, new here so dont shout at me!

got a 2001 1.2 16v clio sport in monaco blue, wanting to get a new set of alloys and lower it aswell. i was thinking of a set of 17" fox 3 evos in platinum finish as they look well sweet, will this have any complications if i want to lower it too (ie needing the wheel arches rolled etc)? does anyone have any other ideas for a nice set of wheels which arent too expensive, or any pics of them on their car?

also, as its only a 1.2 and not really worthy of a lot of modifications (lets be honest, its not gonna go that much faster!) what induction kit would be recommended for my car? and maybe an exahust system too??

cheers for advice, steven

Wheel arches should be ok, the clio has big arches as it is. Lots of people have 17s on here and lowered 60mm without problems, just make sure the wheel offset is ok for your car. I love monaco blue is it a mk2ph1 or the facelift clio?

I wouldnt fit aftermarket rims mate but thats my personal opinion. I think a set of 172 rims would look nice....prob cheap also. Keep it subtle and stealth ;).

PS. Good thinking re; tuning....do exhaust and IK (makes the car more fun to drive) but leave it there and start saving for a 172 ;)

Just my 2p's worth :)

cheers guys. yes its a mk2 phase 1 model, Y reg. wheel offset on my car is ok. i spotted a set of oz graturismos i think they were, but they seemed a wee bit expensive for me. GaryG, where could I source a set of 172 wheels? i do intend to get a172/182 or a clio cup/trohpy or something like that when i can afford the insurance. i was quoted £3500 for insurance on a 172 because i'm only 19 and have claimed my insurance in a writeoff accident.

will hopefully be able to get an induction kit later today if i get a chance to go to the shops, pipercross a good choice? an exhaust would be nice too!

i have a monaco blue clio, with dynamique alloys, they look lovely (like 172 wheels but 15's). get a 172 spoiler or a cup spoiler, colour code it, lower it, and a nice twin exit exhaust, oh and ph2 rear lights.

I'd do the same as this if I was you.....wait a min I have lol

Also what vinny said my next choice would have to be turinis I like them a lot.

Also with the monaco blue I think the dynamique wheels look great, hopefully John will see this and post you a pic cos his looks really nice.

Anyway he's a pic of mine on 172 alloys and -60mm apex kit.... :approve:

Turinis do suit the clio well, you should get the double optic headlights if your car has the standard ones 100x better, prob the best mod you can do

  Valver..

Thanks, the wheels arent too bad, but i just fancy a change. had a black one exactly the same before but its in the graveyard now. is that full body coloured bumpers you've got on yours, instead of the ones with the black plastic?

Yeah I had a friend colourcode them for me but I should warn you monaco blue is very hard paint to match as its a pearl-metallic. When we went throungh the car paint book there was about 7 different shades of monaco blue!
