Most overpriced car EVER !! FLOL

And they will actually sell it, that being the funny thing. Bramleys, much like Romans in London sell their 'exclusive' cars at a premium.

Old car or new car...

Modified, probably unreliable car that will be undriveable on British roads or a brand new car...

Why and how can people make these comparisons I will never know.

Remember where you are JD.. Remember the Forum...

That Golf is not new either :p

To car enthusiasts, 40k buys a used Ferrari/Maserati/R8

40k to non 'enthusiasts' is a 300bhp Golf - it is all relevant.

Pipe down Craigy boy, I'll see you Saturday.

I'm all for buying the best you can get for your money, as a car enthusiast. But "GTR money for a Golf" is a completely pointless exercise. For "GTR money" one could buy a house in Leeds. Or 3,333 years of CS membership.

I stand by my comparison.

Spending £36,000 on a 3/4 year old super car is FAR more justifiable than spending that same £36,000 on a family hatchback.

For the extra 10k+, you'd make it reliable. Undrivable - Driver preference.

Can i add into the equation, i don't actually think people really drop 38k in 'cash' on cars anymore do they?

PCP/HP/Financing something for 2-3 years means you're only paying the depreciation, as it were. I don't think we're being realistic in comparissons IMO.

Most of the time I guess so..

My girlfriends dad went and paid for his evo 9 couple of month ago with 20k cash, depends what financial situation you're In guess.

But then you get the running costs of a supercar on top of the 36k

GTR breaks, massive bills. What was it for the bonnet pedestrian lifters, £11k?

Golf breaks, warranty.

This forum never ceases to amaze me. Head in the clouds.

I remember that, guy reversed into the Datsun - goodbye 11k. :-|

Flol at getting an R33!!!!!! Flolollroldkdjf fbfrolfzzzz!

Over £40k new?? Really? Who on earth would pay that for a golf?! The new STI is going to be under £30k, I know which I'd buy.

Well I'm never buying a 36k f**king Golf.

I'm out.

Of course you won't. Nor would I. But you and I are not their target market, so comparing it to something older but better (in your eyes) is utterly pointless. My father bought my mother a new Golf at a cost of £18k. Should have got her an '06 B7 RS4 for that money!!!!

You just compared buying an R33 Ricer to buy a flagship Golf.

Fully agree Durbin, R33's look gash to boot.
