MOT advice - arb bushes and front hoses

I've had my first Clio (172 Cup) for about six months and all seem well so far (love the drive and feel of the car) - but now I've got to sort a couple of MOT issues, which I'd appreciate some advice on:

Front brake hoses are Goodridge fitted in 2018, but failed as one is 'excessively stretched' on full lock, and the other rubs on the strut (I've seen this today under the car).
Could these have been fitted wrongly? Is one side longer than the other?
Either way, I need to buy new ones - Goodridge again, or maybe the KTR ones?

Inner ARB bushes are perished - can these be changed (with the car up on a ramp) without removing the bar? Are the standard bushes 'split' so they can be fitted this way?

Actually, I'm please that these are the only issues
Any advice appreciated

Goodridge hoses are fit for the bin mate

Get them sacked off as they're utter garbage! I dont think I've ever seen a set that fits without catching the shock

BRT Motorsport do cheap and very good quality hoses.

As for the inner ARB bushes, they're a massive pain in the arse to do. Easiest way is to use a longer bolt to draw down the brackets clamp it in place and then put the old bolt back in and hope it doesnt slip off the clamp as you're doing it hahaha

That's great thanks - as long as someone else has replaced the inner bushes without removing the bar, we'll do the same

Lol I spent hours trying to do my inner ARB bushes while I'd got the subframe lowered doing my clutch.

It was a worse job than getting the gearbox out tbh.

Ended up sending my dad out for a big g clamp and and extra pair of mole grips - essential items, but once I had them it took literally minutes

That's great thanks, I'll keep it in mind. And if your Dad's available, and he makes decent tea...

I could do with replacing the inner ARB bushes on my 172, i just really don't fancy doing it on the driveway in the cold...
Anyone got a link to a good guide?

Any worse than doing rack bushes on axle stands?
Much worse. Rack bushes are a piece of cake on stands.

I only managed it as I'd got the subframe lowered anyway so access was much better and could get the mole grips above it to clamp it, Id hate to attempt it on stands with the subframe in position as there will be very little room to get the clamps in place

I'll leave them well alone then, might just do the outers

Yeah outers are dead easy, although when I did mine both bolts snapped off as they were completely rusted to the wishbone, so have some nuts and bolts to hand for when you fit the new ones.
