MOT fail on 172 Cup

Looking for advice here...

My car failed today on a few minor issues (will sort them out, bulbs etc). The main problem is the emissions.

When I fitted the decat, some scrap merchant took my stock system from outside the house! so I have no stock cat. The garage informed me the car is massively over on emissions as it is.

So I either need to borrow a cat from someone? find a 'friendly' MOT station or buy a cat (bummer). The garage have told me whatever cat I get will have to be type approved and have a certificate and as such I can't give them a used cat?? Any thoughts?

Such a simple problem is becoming massively expensive when you factor in labour cost etc (can't be arsed to remove the decat etc AGAIN).

U cnt pass an mot wit the decat on its just not possible and vosa who are the people who monitor all the mot stations have clamped down on garages who are shall i say "freindly" so your just gonna have to bite the bullet and get a cat mate but just borrow one of someone which is off there old system as thats bo**ks what the garage is telling you a cat is a cat they all do the same job! the garage shouldnt care as long as it drops the emissions to the right level.

Surely if u look at eBay and cliosport part for sale forum u will find what u need. And or scrap yard. Any cat that working ok will do.

U cnt pass an mot wit the decat on its just not possible .

My brothers Honda S2000 passed its MOT with a decat and full Mugen system. This was at a normal garage and an emissions test was carried out

Imports are a different story though....they may be subject to a simple emissions test if not officially imported (or some such crap).

But then maybe he felt sorry for the guy he does drive an S2000 afterall

thats balls about the cat, if you fit a 2nd hand one and it passes an emissions test then its fine?!?!

we'll know tomorrow. I got a used cat at the weekend and a couple of spare sensors...expensive mot but that's my fault.
