MOT Failed Subframe

Near side Sub frame Damaged. :-( to what extent is this a fail ?

Also how easy is it to change and how do i go about doing this many thanks Rob

In theory theres only a few bolts there tow for each wishbone then there a fe hold the sufrmae to the car then then just got to remove the dogbone mont.

In practice its a nightmare bolts getting stuck etc. This is why in engine conversions people take engine out the top rarther than bottom which is in theory easier.

Its a fail if they say its rusted/damaged etc takes a crash realy to damage them they should last and not rust realy.

I dunno i've seen some f**king rusty subframes.

As edde says in theory its an easy job, in reality, esp if your subframe is badley rusted enough to fail the MOT it will be a b**ch, esp the bolts that hold the rear of the subframe

Shouldnt be rusty cars only done 30K. They said its been in a crash. (NEWS to me :-(). I'm jacking it up tomorrow and seeing how bad it is :).

You've got a mk1 ph1 clio on 30K!!!!!!!!!

Sure its not been round the clock lol

At carlton we had a ladys car come in for its yearly service...

it had only done 2411 miles. Ph3 1.4 rt auto. on a P plate!

It was lovely to work on, no siezed bolts, no grease or oil sprayed everywhere, even under the car the underseal was still white!!
