MOT - Pass/Fail!





Ok, so took my car today for its MOT..

and it PASSED first time.. hah... so so so happy..

BadBoy bonnet wasnt a problem.. and everything else was fine.. !

*dances*

They always find something usually.. like last year, Split Brake Hoses.. but not this time!

Woohoo :D MOT is horrible - like waiting for an exam result, or the dentist telling you what needs to be done to your teeth.
 


Well, no waiting.. I was sat in the car turning lights on etc.. then turning wheel, braking etc.. whilst bloke checked it - was quite cool! I hate waiting about.

He was talking to me about the car too.. which was nice.. heh.
 


Did they say anything about the bonnet?

My mate does mine, and he was taking the piss all the way through saying he was gonna fail me for how loud my K-Tec is! hehe!
 


Nope, they put the light thing in front of it.. all was fine.. then they just left it.. heh, does let a lot of light out tho, having bigger lights..

My exhaust was burbling very nicely when he was checking emissions.. hehe, lovely sound when it echos off the wall..
 


lucky b*gger,mine failed! insecure front subframe,insecure ball joint,rear brake valve is siezed!hopefully not 2 expensive tho,its goin back in on thursday

I Have been doing MOTs on cars for 10 years now, 3 years on Renault, must say that renos are usually pretty good when it comes to mot time, common things I find are

Brake hoses split, Siezed brake valves, defective brakes(badly pitted discs, rear brakes leaking fluid), broken road springs, blown shocks, ball joints, anti-roll bar bushes, split CV boots and rack boots.
Very rarely get a rusty one in.
Most of the items above are easy to fix.

The list sounds a lot but when you compare it to some other makes it aint to bad.;)

we find quite a few with play in the rack ends(track arms),especially old style lagunas
