mounting rwd gearbox on f4r engine

  MK2 Escort, Clio 172
Anyone done it? This is for a poss engine swap into my Escort Mk2 track/rally car. It's running a 2.0 pinto on 45's at the mo but would love to put the Clio engine into it :D

The Volvo 340 will match up but that comes with a aft mounted gearbox but you could make it mount to other box with work

How is that going to work?
I thought the T5s were all FWD transverse mounted? Are there some longtitudinal T5s? Sounds interesting. :)

?????? Are you thinking Volvo T5 engine? T5 is also a gearbox, as used in quite a few fast Fords and several TVR's.

Cheers
M

Yeah T5 is a RWD gearbox, used alot in american mustle cars, more famously over here the sierra cosworths.

I think the TVR one were the same, but the bell housing is different. Its the same pattern the rover V8, as we've built a 5.6l one for my mates Dax Rush and using a TVR sourced T5...should be fun!
