lol wel am lyking me clio lyk and was planning on aiming for a 172 ph1 but a have seen a del sol i lyk and was just woundering if the was much fuel consumption difference.

Assuming the CRX is the 1.6vti then the Clio should be better on fuel, but not by enough to make it worth choosing a purchase over.

Personally, I would go for a 1*2 as many older Hondas are not ageing well and could cost serious money with rust and parts like gearboxes etc

I get around 34mpg driving my ph1 172 and my older 1.8vti MB6 Civic used to do around 23ish (will have been a lot heavier than the CRX though).

CRX Del Sols are possibly the most homosexual cars EVER. And I'm including Mini Cabrios and Beetle Cabrios in that. And those Suzuki X5 things.

hey mate

Honda's are awesome cars (the other half has one) providing u dont fiddle with them. I like the del sol but i'm not sure that a guy can pull it off, sorry.

If however u have ur heart set then the answer to ur question is that the del sol will be much more thirsty. i jumped from a 1.3 to a clio 1.6 and have found the difference almost crippling! the book value is 37mpg. but that was an awful long time ago.

Also insurance needs to be considered.. the del sol 1.6vti is group 16

hope that helps :)

  182
i have a clio 182 and my fiancee has a civic type r, we both put £40 worth of unleaded 97 in our cars a week ago with some redex too, i managed to get 200 miles out of mine before my petrol light was on, she got 224 before her light was on, so these two cars are about the same as i drive with a heavier lead foot! lol! i have no idea what a del sol is i have to say! never heard of it! my 182 is running at 29.2 mpg at the mo. goes between that and 31.2

this is the crx.. another point is that if it's badged 'del sol' it's an import.

my 172 gets better mpg than my old 1.2 16v clio.

del sol is rather gay, my mate has one with exhaust, decat, induction kit etc and while it sounds brilliant its not as quick as my standard 172 especially low down with the lack of torque being a 1.6
