My 1.2

Car  Clio Extreme 1.2
Hi guys

I scrapped my shitty old 106 for £300 earlier this month and bought a Clio extreme 1.2 16V
This is how she stood when I bought her:

vast imporvment on my 106 (I don't have any pictures - i didn't want to ruin my iphone camera. ^^)

Today I've:
Changed all front lights to bright blue ones
Changed front repeaters to chrome ones
fitted silver visions

Will take pictures of my front lights tonight. :)

On my list:
Fix dent/crack/paint missing on boot. (if it's worth it or would it be easier to just buy a new boot lid)
Waiting for my Clio membership pack and RenaultSport door sills
Unsure what to do about my wheels. will upload a picture of how f**ked the one is and look for advise. :P

Hmmm.. I'm obviously going to need to chose a colour scheme soon... As my car is a sort of moonstone colour what works with it? I mean if it was blue or silver you could chose a colour scheme quite easy but being inbetween blue and silver is a bit harder.. :S

Agree with Toby ^ lows and black wheels, hmmm...

It's obviously your personal preference on the colour scheme though

Pretty much the same as mine ;)

182 grille makes a massive difference on these, so if you can get one of them itd be a good mod.

rs grill, skoda splitter, drop as low as you want it, colour code all the black plastic and a nice set of rims if your wanting to push the boat out go for a 1*2 interior a decent sound system mate and jobs a gooden then you just have to do a bit of detailing to get her lookin shiney as f uk lol

nice set of alloys would make the car... 172 wheels are always a good bet & not too pricey

colour code & low... try to think of a few little (subtle) mods that would make it that bit more individual.

Yeah I was hoping for some opinions on what work/looks good.

A lot of people saying lows, springs or coils?
I hear coils ruin the ride quality?
Not sure if its the same for springs people on here always seem to go for coils.

depends what your after mate i went for springs for now as im going to get a set of coileys in the future just wanted a quick fix for the moment, i went for a set of apex -35 from k-tec there actualy prety good alot harder than standard but sharpened the handling up a lil, only advice id give bout lows is think of what the car is going to be used for, is there loads of speed bumps or badly maintained roads around and do you have people in the back all the time as if your too low when loaded your car will scrap haha. and the lower you go the less comfort you get.

p.s coileys can be adjusted

Cheers for the info dude. might put the whole idea off for now then as there are speed bumps on the way to my office and speed bumps in my area. :/

Think my actual headlights need a clean inside, or just get new tinted ones. xD

sorry i wasnt quite clear bout the speed bumps bit lol basicaly if you lower it too much you wont get over them lol so if you want the car practical id say -50mm drop would be max lowering thats why i went for -35mm bit of a compromise still get some comfort but loose the wheel arch gap if that makes sense, theres speed bumps every where by me only risk i have is when i scrap the splitter on curbs in car parks when im not paying attention lol

Here's an idea, sort out that big b*****d dent on the boot!

It is on my list, just unsure if I should take the trim off and try hit it out or get a new boot lid, dent was there when I bought the car, no way I'm paying some one to do it it would be far cheaper to buy a new boots lid off a scrapy

Cheers dude, do you have any pictures of your car? because mine does look a bit like a 4x4 as it stands now. >.<

Your ideas sound good! I have exactly the same car except in black and an 04 reg. I have lots of work to do yet but i've gone with black alloys and changing badge colour to carbon red. Looks pretty good! Need to get it dropped. A good 40mm all round is a safe buy. Cant go wrong. Keep posting regular photos of updates so I can see! If you need a hand with anything just message me as I am keen to share info on the car.

Thanks mate,
I did want a black clio too because black can go with any colour, but I got a decent deal on this one. Do you have a project post or any pictures of your car? :)

I'm keen to share info too, I'll be looking at fixing my sun roof soon as I get drips from the driver side sun visor on rainy days. :( It's not a massive problem but it shouldn't be there so I guess it needs fixing. ^^

Ok so I'm looking at my wheels now..
3 of them are fine no kerbing not even any scratches...
But is one is... I just don't understand how 3 wheels can be perfect and this one so f**king awful..

What would you guys suggest? try buy just one wheel from somewhere? or attempt to refurb this one (doubt it's possible to refurb with the chunk missing lol)
**** I will be getting a whole set of wheels eventually; just need a qucik fix for the time being ****

refurb them for the now. that dent can be hammered out and just a bit of filler to make it look straight again. get your new ones when you can afford them and keep the standards for when you come to sell put them back on.

Cheers mate I'm 21 now so by next Jan i'll be looking at 172's so yeah keeping all standard parts are pretty imprtant for me, thanks for the wheel advise! :)
