My 1/4 mile Vid against a 500BHP Evo

  182, SRT8, RS4, GT-R
At last, someone talks sense. The R32 weighs 1510kg,we both had full interior on those vids at night...he has 250BHP,i have i don't know but probably upwards of 190+.

Of course he was giving it max, like you said, why would he want to get beat by me?? He was pretty gutted.

the golf has 230 the very max in real life, when i was at stealth with my brother there was a r32 with some breather mod which sounds the b****cks but was only pushing out 240 at the flywheel

most manufacturers bhp claims are wrong. it depends on a lot of things (like the fuel used and the ambient air temperature) but the main one being the dyno that is used to measure the power. it's quite a well known fact amongst ctr owners that as standard, they only produce around 155 wbhp. even when you factor in transmission losses it still doesn't really add up to the claimed 197 bhp at the flywheel. this is the case on cpl's dyno dynamics rolling road. i've had my car dyno'd twice since it's been modded and the results differ by 11 bhp. my point is that some cars of the same make and model have more bhp than others so the golf might not have been a true 240bhp.

anyway, disregarding the above, it is still possible for a well driven 182 to beat a golf r32 upto 100. i had a race with my mates r32 on a dual carriageway(when my car was std), side by side from 50, a proper 3-2-1-GO sort of thing. for a split second he nudged ahead but as soon as my vtec came in i pulled half a cars length. same again in 4th. and yet i've also had a race with a 182 on the same road (another mate) and he stuck to my bumper up to beyond a ton. basically, it differs from car to car. some claim their car e.g 182 is quicker than other 182's and I definitely believe this is true. R32 are brilliant cars but they are not quite as fast as some people seem to think. we all know clio's punch above their weight too.

p.s please no comments about how i shouldn't be racing on public roads. most of us do it and besides the road was pretty much deserted. thanks;)
