My 172 - 1 year on

It's a year to the day since I bought Ali's 172:

In which time I've done 6000 miles in it, replaced the handbrake cables, fitted koni adjustables and sportlines, had it serviced, alignment setup and I'm about to have new discs and pads fitted all round and some goodridge hoses.

Cannot fault it, great all rounder.

I knew when I sold my 182 I'd end up buying another RS Clio, and at the moment I can't think of anything I'd swap it for. Absolute 2nd hand bargain.

Now I just need to get a bloody dent pulled, replace the tyres and get some good pictures of it.

As you say 2nd hand they are cracking value for money.

For the miles you do and the fact you have no kids etc, you should be sat in a Vee.

Its good to buy one you know some history of, which is why I was keen to buy this. Ali hated it though but still I had some knowledge that it hadn't gone wrong in the previous 6 months / year at least.

I can't afford to run a Vee, flat takes most of my money plus a Vee would just get tanned outside my flat, the 172 is a sleeper which I like

Great news Rory. This is the only car i've sold that hasn't been ruin'd, written off, or problematic. I was dubious about selling to a CS member after what happened with the pink bus. But i'm glad it's running well for you.

I know i gave it a hard time, But given that i prefer the Vee to the M, the 172 stood no chance! I was being very unfair!

Yeah it aint been that clean in my ownership, no outside taps at the flat and the weathers been awful. I will give it a clay polish and wax when the weather improves

Was funny this car, my old boy got it for me, I gave him 3.5k and told him to get me a car, i never seen it once till i came back from the ring. Even better was when i got home, i walked round it once, jumped in it and drove it. After 4 months or so i picked up the M and the old boy sold it for me! LOL
