My 172 Mk2 - in "200 Pearl White"

  RB 182 FF
This is my first build thread so hopefully not to yawn! So i have known the car for several years whilst it was in a friends ownership, i had even helped build it through some lengthy late evenings at my unit rolling well into the earlys hours!

My friend was reluctantly selling due to re-training and taking an income knock! I haven't owned a clio for about two years now and didn't really plan to own another (Have had five) but after a nurburgring trip in late 2017 i decided i needed another clio in my life and my friend messaged asking if i would be interested... Perfect timing! The car was collected about two weeks later :)

So a little bit about the car as it stands / stood when i bought it

  • Professional Respray in Clio 200 Pearlescent White
  • Smoothed Renault Sport Spray Shack Bullets
  • Engine Refresh/Rebuild
  • Engine Dynamic Camshafts & Remap
  • Full SS System & Decat / Stealth

  • Pure Motor Sport Top Mounts
  • Pure Motor Sport Front Strut Brace
  • Vibratechnic Engine & Box Mounts
  • Poly Bushed Dog Bone Mount
  • Poly Bushed Outter Arb’s
  • GAZ GHA Coilovers
  • ACS Motorsport Bump/Roll Correction Kit
  • 16” BBS Split Rims
  • Michelin Pilot 3’s All Round
  • Brembo 4Pot Calipers & DS2000 Pads
  • 300mm Renault Laguna Discs
  • Rear Tom Johnson Roll Cage

  • OMP Sub Frames
  • Retrimmed Sparco Seats in Leather with Renault Sport Stitching

The car is pretty tidy as is but the interior could do with tidying up, it’s the just half arsed Renault interior spray job and it’s also in the original silver.
I have some plans for the car which i will add as another post later! Any comments / remarks to how the car is currently setup welcomed and ideas moving forward. The car will be used mainly at weekends & track days with the insight to look into racing in 2019/2020, oh a few ring trips in 2018!
The ride is tight as to be expected with the supporting mods but does feel abit crashy, i presume that’s the spring rate on the coil overs?

I’m based in Bristol - Any local’s?

My friend had some Blue Silicone Hoses he had bought that he intended to fit but hadn't... so threw them in for me! Managed to get these fitted last weekend along with some blue Magnicore Competition HT Leads.

The Spa Water Temp Guage required it's own temp sender as the ECU requires the OEM read out (so i am told) so have had a boss welded into the side of a spare water gallery housing to thread the gauge sender in so that was also fitted with the new hoses, and new header tank.

  Lots of Scrap...
decent spec
but as above, i'd be loosing the oversized brakes and reducing wheels to lightweight 15's and some track orientated rubber :)

The spec sheet read great, but IMO the pearl doesn't work for me on the Mk2..... Glacier white yes.... And the wheels, no.
