It was the very first silver ones made that had the aluminium bonnet from the cup race cars. Mostly the W and some X reg cars, same goes for the shift light. Rev upto 7200rpm and you should see the green light on the dash about 300rpm before the limit.

In my eyes the aluminium bonnet version is the best 172 out there - a true homologation special.
