My car cleaning shame !

  Peddled device
I love my Cup, but its never shown as far as cleaning is concerned. Its always tidy inside, but since Racing Blue can look good even when dirty, and the original alloys hide brake dust due to their grey colour, it probably gets washed 4 times a year and polished only once a year ! The paint work looks good when cleaned and there's no staining on it or discolouration, just the usual stone chips. So, to get it looking good next time I clean it what do you recommend I do? What would be the next step after washing it? Should I get it done professionally? Should it have something special done to the paintwork to make it shine after 7 years of minimal cleaning?

None but the polish I put on last September (Autoglym Super Resin Polish)

I've read a bit on Snow Foam and as I used to do HGV cleaning for a major UK trailer company I think it's a gimmick. You have to break the bond of the dirt/dust from the car and all the foaming products we tried didn't work well unless the cleaning product had a high pH value.

I do see the merit of a bit of elbow grease, though.

to aid cleaning, a pre wash like citrus power will help rinsed off with a presure washer. look into tar removers an claying to remove an aweful lot of dirt you didnt think was there or bonded to the paint.

keep with SRP or upgrade to the likes of AF Rejuvenate or DDJ limeprime to cleanse the paint and leave it ready to wax or seal.

IMO polishing it as you have been with SRP is pointless unless you protect it. RB works well with a nice glossy wax or wax based sealant. something nice and easy to use for the new to detailing would be the likes of AF Toughtcoat or Werkstat jett will see significant extra gloss for minimal effort
