My Clio Dynamique mini project.

Well, after writing my poor little extreme off i found a decent 1.2 54' Dynamique.

After any tips on what i should do with it, anything really. I am only a student so cannot go spending lots, although i do hope to eventually lower it.

1.The door handles and side strips are black at the minute, i want to do something with them (i have a spare set, so something to play with) Do i colour code them or do i spray them back / lacquer them?

If i was to do that i would also do my spare front/back diamond and the clio sign in black too.
I would also make the 16v on the bullets black with the rest silver and lacquer them too.

I need to find some spare door handles!

2. I am going to give the film tinting another go. Its not the best but when done does look okay. Plus that i have some coming that i didn't get to use on my black extreme.

3. Silvervisions i need. I got some silver coated bulbs for the front indicators but the pins are straight opposite where the ones in the clios are more of a 10 & 2 set out, strange though as the listing i got them for quoted clio!

4. Number plates. I fancy some of the pressed metal ones. Where is the best place to get these?

5. I need an RS grille, badly, buy where from?

6. Cleaning up, the body work is not great but i don't mind spending bits on cleaning products, i have some AutoGlym SRP and shampoo / bumper care. There are a few light scratches on parts, but a few in one section, i'll try and get a picture, what would be the best way to hide these the best i can?

Right, that is all i can think of for now!

What do you suggest? Hopefully get it where i am pleased with it so i can come along to the meet ups :D

Not sure which dealers to go to round my end, even Harrats is quite some distance away from me.

Not sure about colour coding, i like the look but i cant stop thinking what the handles and bump strips would look like in pearl black along with the tinted back windows?

Also, where would be the best place to get the spray paint for my car? I don't mind online but cannot see somewhere like Halfords selling it, infact i don't even know which colour it is.

Your car looks sweet, i need to get the grill sorted asap though but wouldn't mind preparing things and doing as much as i can in one day such as the tints, put the colour coding parts on, grill on etc.

If you don;t want to travel to the dealers you could always try on here or ebay for a grill.

you can get paint from the dealers if you only want a small can or try here www.auto-paint.co.uk. The colour code for you car should be on the panel on the drivers door (will double check this when i get into my car tomorrow). I'd recommend smooting the parts down before painting or the finish won't be the best. It only cost me £60 to get my car colour coded at a local body shop though.

I'd go against the tints as the windows already have a tint. (that's personal preference though)

Ordered a grill today £56! :O

Ordered a skoda splitter, don't even know if i actually need it but for £10 im going to get it any way.

Going to order the paint later on when i find the colour from the door panel
Need to see if both my brand new spare wheels are the same size as the alloys i have on as my front ones are a little low and i cannot afford new ones at the minute.

Going to take off each alloy and give it a really good clean inside from break dust as it has never been done.

Also going to have a look at what condition the calipers and drums are in and maybe hammerite paint them.

Looking at embossed number plates but there are quite a few around, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Embossed-3D-M...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4aa1d81196

Need a new back numberplate light cover, the one that is on is cracked

Thats as much as my funds can stretch to this week :)

In fact, i can squeeze a little more out of it, need some dust caps, any suggestions, just plain plastic ones or some black metal ones - ebay

The bulbs, need to check if the ones i have will fit my new one as they did not fit my old one as the fittings that were on my extreme were offset.

£56 for a grill seems expensive. where did you get it from?

think i might have a number plate light cover somewhere. Just the cover though not the actual light unit.

Got it from Harrats Wakefield, couldn't find a place any closer to me that do them, may have another look though, i don't have to buy it he only has my name and number.

I'll have a look at the light, im pretty sure everythings working on it just the cracked cover.

Got an RS grill today thanks to a member on here! not fitting it yet though, i feel sorry for harrats as the part is still getting ordered in for me to be here tomorrow :(.

Anywayyy. I have that and have the skoda splitter. I have some detailing stuff to come through, such as clay. I also have a pair of exterior door handles to come too, only cost me £4.99 delivered to which i will use the spray i have ordered too to try and colour code them and the door strips. I have spares so its hardly going to cost me anything. I will eventually get all the parts and the originals i have colour coded once i have money but for now on the cheap and i have spares it will do me if i take my time :)

That's it for now, oh when i get some more funds i need to sort out the number plates. Will also get round to buying some new bulbs to get rid of the fried egg sat in there.

Any more ideas? :)

Bought some front 172 seats today from a member on here that will be fitted when the outside is done.

My spray paint has come today so i will get some wet and dry and start colour coding the side strips & waiting for the door handles.

Thats it for now :)

Slight update, also got some rear seats to come to match the front 172 ones i bought although i have not put them in yet.

Got the silver coloured bulbs for the front and back, got a new number plate for the front which is the smaller one to fit into the gap. Got some fresh cliosport.net stickers and need to get some decals for the inside for when i spray the gear insert and dash strips.

Started to colour code, took my time and although not a perfect job not bad for my first attempt. Could have done with more sanding down in areas but after hours and hours i gave up. I am quite impressed though that i had a big scratch in one which i used filler and now its not visible :D

Been sat in the garage for 2 days, will spend the next couple of weeks doing the outside and inside in which they should be ready to put on when everything else is done!

Any idea how to make them 'shiny'? i have used clear lacquer on them with a round 3 light coats but its not what i expected them to turn out like.

I then thought i would have a go with the bullets i had, they were already silver so a slight touch up should go well with the fresh strips

Also

Got the door strips to sort out, see my thread about the lacquer, i need to put some more on to give it the shiny look but don't know if i should sand at all first or just spray it over as it is, they have been sat since i first lacquered them two weeks ago.

STILL waiting for the 172 rear seats to come, the seller is having problems but the communication is bad its been over 2 weeks now.

Sorted door handles out and love the finish to them only cost me £5 delivered for the handles and the spray + lacquer i already had

Not really anything to update, got a few different megs products ready for a good detail of the car hopefully next week if the weather is alright.

Once thats done i can start putting the door strips on, handles on. The dash strips are ready to be painted but i don't want to do them until the airbag sticker comes or gear nob sticker comes :)
