My DIY Williams alloy refurb

Picked up a set of williams alloys the other night in bad need of a good refurb!

Here is 1 of the wheels, this is probs 1 of the best!

I decided i was goign to take all the wheels right down to the metal so i started by paint stripping the surface:

Then i got on with peeling all the paint off, a power washer also helped to blast it off once it had bubbled! Took a few coats and rinses though!

Once i had the majority off i started cleaning it up with a grinding disc:

No whilst i was finishing this wheel off i decided to cover the next 1 in stripper to get it going and to my surprise it turned out that the whole face of the next alloy had been mirror finished beneath the paint :S. Anyone seen this before? It looks like its been machined as you can see circular marks all over the face?

Maybe one of the alloys was bought because one was buckled in the set or something and happened to be polished? Then just matched to the others?

Good work so far, will be good to see the outcome.

I had a look at the 3rd 1 and this is also polished! I reckon i have 3 polished and 1 normal.

It takes soooo much work to get just 1 wheel to that level of finish! Im dreading the next 3 lol

good effort! I would have taken them to be sand blasted personally...

be sure to update with progress!

  Whichever has fuel
I think you should paint them in tungsten with a Silver lip.

(That what I was going to do but changed my mind last minute... :()
