My engine buzzing, now with clip!

  Clio 182 & Saxo VTR
Ok so my car still buzzes when im driving at speeds over 70mph. The noise i thought was sorted when someone said it could be what clios in dubai have, like a warning signal buzzer to inform you that your travelling at a high speed. After listening to that video it sounds nothing like mine as you can tell.

I went to my local airfield disused track, donned a high vis top and hard hat and recorded it.

Any ideas?

Also, as you can tell, i drop the revs and it stops, pick them up it comes back.

lol @ buzzin m8.

I can't watch Youtube on this computer... Apparently flash doesn't work with 64 bit browsers...

I think you should sell that car and buy a different 182.

Why would i do that, this one nearlly works, i doubt theres any other renault that nearlly works as well as this.

Is it an electronic sound then? If so it could be some speed warning. If it's metalic, It could be anything really. (From wheel to gearbox) As I assume it isn't occuring when driving in other gear at 4000 rpm?

Driving faster then 90mph? Is the sound still there? Does de-clutching help removing the sound when you engage the clutch when you hear the sound?

Definately not mechanical, im 100% sure of that. Infact so sure i was trying to put my head on the speakers whilst driving (airfield of course).

Its relative to speed it seems, i can be at 4k in 1st or 2nd and its fine, anything else and it turns 21 in a night club with a pocket full of ecstasy and starts to "buzz".

Dan if you think it's the speakers try unplugging them. It's only a french car, just pull at the speaker cover trim and yee shall find the speaker.

I didn't think Clio's had a speed sensitive stereo, or maybe it's picking up static as you're traveling so fast:clown:

Nah i thought it could of been coming from my tweeters but it wasnt, its almost as if its coming from the dash but cant pin point where. If i find it, it shall be removed with brute force. Then replaced with a lightweight carbon fibre polar bear friendly sparco or similarly branded high performance replacement.

Sorry for De-clutching, I am Dutch! :D

Thought engaging the clutch or dis-engaging the clutch.

Anyway. If you drive harder/faster then 90mph does the sound pitch up? So you are sure it isn't whining from the gearbox? uprated gearbox mount and resonating behind the dash??? (not sure only guessing / trail and error method)

Might sound crazy but try driving 90mpg in 4th? See if it's really speed sensitive. (BTW the 172 I have does 112mph in 4th, so I guess yours can too)

Ive had the headunit turned off anyway Jeff to elimate that. Feelx, the sound stays the same, just more constant, instead of buz buzz buzzzzzz its just one long buzzzzzzzzzzz almost like a heart monitor when someone dies, lol.

Ill give it a try tonight feelx, thanks for the help, appreciated, Will feed back to you.

Just got back. Took the car out with my brother passengering. I drove, he battered everything.

Turned out to be where the interior light is. If i press down on it, it stops. Ill probably take it apart and see what there is there, i think a leaking windscreen is the culprit.

Glad its all sorted though, rather chuffed that i was righti t wasnt mechanical.

Thanks for your help feelx.
