My first clio detail

Owned the clio for 6 months now and apart from previous applications of wax (Megs cleaner wax) and regular washes i havent really done much more. Today i set out to clay, polish and wax

My method was;

Wash with 2BM
Clay with Megs clay kit (Quick Detailer for lube)
Wash with 2BM
Polish with some Mer Ultimate polish i had lying around (wont be using again, you have to work very hard and fast to get it off or else it needs some elbow grease!)
Wax with Collinite 846 - reallly impressed with this wax (the first proper wax i have used), so easy to apply and take off - looks like i was smearing my clio with vaseline

look at the state of my clay bar! certainley needed claying!

a few after shots, i am impressed with the results after 4 hours hard work ignore the alloys they are in a s**t state and getting refurbed very soon..

and a few of the engine bay which is a start but it needs more work..

a good mornings work..time to buy more detailing stuff now, its addictive!

I know how you feel! Did my first ever clay today! Defo needed it and now it's so smooth!

Read so many products on here! Megs endurance tyre gel is awesome.

When payday comes I'm gonna be spending alot more money, the missus doesn't approve :-(

yeah, i am using some cheap stuff at the moment, whats recommended ?

getting into detailing is all good, but when you have spent over 1k on s**t u hardly use its bad. i buy stuff for the sake of it, use it once then goes back on the shelf. I probly use around 10 items regulary the rest i dont. My garage is like aladins cave lol.

i use chemical guys new look trim gel for tyres btw

Looking very clean Montana. I started with a few bits from halfords and now just bought a DA and waiting to make another order for cleaning stuffs! I use megs endurance on the tyres BTW.

Try getitng to the 3k barrier and having 8 sealants, 20 pads and 5 detailing sprays to choose from!! The term nowadays is "the more you spend, the less youve got"

Quick note, get some WD40 on an old rag and clean the splitter as the white polish marks detract from the overall excellent work you've put in.

And ditch the Mer(der) polish.

I used that Megs Endurance Tyre Gel, as it was in halfords for the 3for2, works a treat if u put it on with a cut up sponge.

cheers JD, that was a bit i overlooked until i uploaded the pictures!

I dont plan on using that Mer stuff anymore, going to give the AG SRP a try
