My Inferno Story...

So is it not for sale now then?
No not at the moment but everything is for sale for the right price

Something id like to do on mine.
Sure I've asked you this before but is it easy to do? Are there any guides knocking around for changing bottle and putting new coolant in?
I’d like to know this also, like could the pipe be nipped just to allow the bottle to be swapped then topped up with coolant.

Get old coolant out of the bottle, remove and fit new bottle. Fill with coolant.

It's that easy.

A quick test fit of the rear strut...

Had to use a washer each side as it looked like the nut would have pulled through otherwise.
Probably going to get it painted black to blend in more and match the Pure one which is up front.

I think I may have found the root cause of my lift off vibration issue... pretty sure the manifold is hitting the subframe due to a snapped gearbox bolt.
This morning I went to investigate, I pulled the engine forward and this made the issue slightly better. Next to check was the gearbox mount all seems well apart from one snapped bolt which mounts in the suspension tower I assume causing the engine to fold in slightly.

I’m unsure how to line it back up, I tried lifting the gearbox from underneath but all this did is lift the engine. I believe @Louis has had the same issue?
Any info how how to resolve would be great.

I next decided to tackle the grubby omp wheel...

Gave it a spray, light agitation with a brush, rinse and left to dry hanging so it doesn’t mark the wheel.

Results will be posted when dry haha

I've posted in my thread with a reply to you if you've seen.

There are 3 additional bolts to remove. If you put a jack under the engine or gearbox, then remove the top nut and 2 smaller bolts on the Centre mount itself then lower the jack slightly and tap the mount with a hammer it'll pop it off. Worth replacing this whilst you're there too if you've not done already as they do go. I was shocked how transformed the Gear change was by changing that mount.

Then get yourself into the arch and grind off the captive on the inside of the arch. Be careful to avoid damage to the arch itself then just nut and bolt it.
You'll even get a little bit of thread on the skin of the arch for the bolt to use.

By removing the other 3 bolts you'll be able to move the whole top aluminium gearbox part. I think you can probably get away without removing the central gearbox mount too but I can't remember now.

I don't think that being sheared will be causing your problems though as it's fairly tight anyway and even once in, the bolt is 'loose' inside the hole of the cage so it's free to move slightly. I'd be checking engine mounts and gearbox mount personally.

@Louis thanks for that mate.
I looked at the dogbone which looks fine, no damage or cracks. I checked the upper mount and again that looks fine, I pulled the engine forward 1 or 2 mm on that mount which has improved the vibration greatly but it’s still there.
The only issue I’ve discovered is the snapped bolt on the gearbox end.
Would you recommend an oem part or ugrade to Viba-techs one??
I currently run purple powerflex dogbone, yellow powerflex upper insert and I guess standard gearbox as I never done anything with it.

Does your gearstick move when putting your foot down?

I'm running a vibratechnic solid mount purely for the fact everything else is solid. I think gearbox wise OEM brand new can be decent. It's whether you take the punt and fit and forget solid. Your choice!
I'd take a look at the polybushed dogbone as they can split inside but should still function pretty well.

I had issues with the exhaust manifold knocking, this was resolved by fitting the powerflex yellow upper insert, evol Motorsport dogbone with purple road bushes but 'track' metal inserts, and a new OEM gearbox right hand mount

A little, not a great deal tbh.

Already got the upper insert, dogbone but done nothing with the gearbox side.

Not done a great deal with the car lately as been so busy working away and now the purchase of a new toy has come along...
2013 Triumph Speed Triple 1050 Special Edition...
1500miles from new completely standard for now but I have already bought an exhaust system, tidy and have other items on a long list.

My upper grille warped when my alternator failed last year and it’s been bugging me since...

So I picked up this 2nd hand grille for £20 which obvisiouly wasn’t in the best condition but it was solid, no broken clips or anything...

Swapping the grills... tried softly soft with no joy, in the end a bit of force and it came off really easy.

Nooo, don't do it, you'll end up regretting it!

Great car and a very good price considering the mileage, conversion and all the mods you've done to it.

Sorry to see this mate. What's next?
Honestly I don’t know yet... that’s even if it goes...

I did with the last one I sold...
Fool. How much for the orange turini's?
That's a lot of nice clio for the money, I just hope it doesn't end up being broken. We'll, apart from the orange wheels that is[emoji23]
Depend if they go with the car, I won’t be braking it, I’d rather keep it for sale and wait for the right buyer than strip it.

Cracking car and spec, glwts, what’s next on the cards?
Not sure tbh, but think it will probably be German

Best of luck with the sale matey...…… awesome car with all the right mods, all fitted by the right people!
Cheers bud I know I’ll miss it but time for a change I reckon.

So the Clio stays... for now...

Today’s purchase a set of Trophy Recaro’s...

Purchased local-ish to me for a decent price,
They came on clio runners, with the pretensions also so hopefully will be plug and play so no need for resistors to be used.
All tilt and slide functions work ok so no dramas there either, couple of marks on the seats and a couple marks on the plastics but overall good condition.
They just need a good clean an me to find time to fit them now.

Nothing like buying something after deciding to keep the car :)

How come? Just dribblers enquiring about the car?

Yeah pretty much bud, people wanting it for nothing and I wasn’t going to give it away.
They look nice mate, glad you decided to keep it.
Thanks bud, organising a local meet for aug, you should pop down.
Get some Jon Foz's low frames, make such a difference.
I will get some but for now I just wanna get them in.
Good news boyo!
Cheers mate, if I’d have had enough money I’d have had the Willy’s too lol

Seen you in Great Yarmouth when I was waiting for a bus a few weeks ago, car looks great and sounds sweet too!

Glad to hear it's staying for now, the seats are great, one thing I wanted to do to the cup just never managed it, they make a massive difference to the interior ?
