my list - thoughts

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
Going to give ze golf a good detail over the next few weeks, Im going to be doing a pannel per night as work is sooooo busy at the minute!

Paint is in OK condition at the moment, the car had autoglym life shine from new, so its held up quite well! But swirls and maring are starting to appear.

The wheels are f**ked from my project U pads and the previous owner has curbed each of them, these along with the front bumper are booked into the body shop for two weeks time so would want to get the detail done and dusted by then.

Im using a PC not a rotary.

My list on CYC at the moment stands as

Menzerna Polishing Pad x 2
Menzerna Finishing Pad x 1
Clay Magic Perfect Finish Kit (100g clay) x1
Menzerna Power Gloss S 34 A
Menzerna Intensive Polish PO85RD 3.02
Menzerna Final Finish PO106FF
Menzerna Final Finish PO85RD
Collinite No.476S Super Double Coat wax

Ive put them in order of use, anything to add/remove, I do already have SRP & EGP so could add them after the 85RD?

i bought the same selection of stuff the other week and was over the moon. But i used it on Renault paint which I'm lead to believe is very thin, hence giving me good results.
A friend of mine used a DA and the same detailing gear on his VAG paint and he didn't achieve the results he was after. Harder paint? I cant remember why. But good luck with detailing!

with a bit of patience and the right technique you should get there. Might not be a 100% correction but you should see a massive difference. A few passes may be needed though so dont expect to work on the one section for 2-3 mins and see 'perfect' paint. Mess around with some combos on a panel of the car and see whats working best.

ps , i want that car:(

Sod all of that, Menz 203S and the Menz pads will do the job tbh. 203S uses new micro abrasive technology, which cuts depending on pressure and pad used, and it finishes down perfectly.

Gone are the days of compounding and refining ;)
