My New 172

Here she is guys

Picked her up today. Registered Sept 01, done 17k miles. Absoloutely mint with no marks, scratches or stone chips either. The p/x with my punto almost didnt go ahead because I started her up this morning and she refused the first few times, then she started and a puff of blue smoke came out. Needless to say I did the 30 sec drive to the garage and kept my mouth shut

Was also suprised as I didnt think the older ones came with xenons and a trip computer, so I am well chuffed. Havent driven it much today, but took it for a quick spin and still have a big grin on my face. The induction roar is amazing. Excuse the images, taken with a Sony S700i.

I paid a bit more than what its worth....7k. I bought it from a Ford main dealer so it has a 3 month warranty on it which is very comprehensive. Plus they took my Punto in for a good price when no one else would, and it would have cost me too much to get it fixed to sell privately. That was the main reason for the purchase.

It didnt come with the CD changer, but hopefully I will change the head unit to an ipod compatible one (will be a while now that I have been crippled buying the car!). The wheels have a few kerb marks on them, but nothing major. Im well happy!!!!

Looks superb - I always assumed that I would replace my current car with a 182, but looking at this is making me think twice!

Is the silver paint on a 172 a different shade?

Yes the silver on the 172 is different from the 182.

51 plate with only 17k on the clock is really good, I thought my 53 plate with 14k on the clock was good but your equates to only under 5k a year!!!

Worth the price you paid when you consider that even though its an early one its got the wear and tear of a newer car.

ive also got a 172 in iceberg silver - bought it a week ago, been loving every minute

i paid 6500 for mine - 03 plate 21k...... but i do need to get the exhaust replaced with a k-tec stainless stealth and my alloys are very curbed but other than that shes looking good

i think 7k isnt a bad price at all

Nice car mate, i have just got a silver one today myself. Looked at a black one earlier which was really mint but the owner was a bit of a chav and razzed away when we left!

My one has done 24,000 miles and has a couple of dings, but then i only paid £6250. Bargain!
