My new 200t lux edc

Hi all. Old member with a new car. Finally had the chance to get a car I’ve wanted since seeing them when they came out. I last drove one in 2015 when I went for a test drive in one.
These cars are awesome, such a complete car, easy to drive in traffic, comfy on journeys and a weapon for lanes and when the road allows. This has the cup pack and lux pack which were essential for me, can’t have keep fit rear windows! Ha.

I have since removed the clio badge from the back, tinted the repeaters and drl strips (undecided) and added black diamond badges. I think it looks great!

Mmm I thought that but I don’t like chrome on cars as a rule. I’m leaving the rs badge if that helps….

Changed the gearknob for a later style one instead of the horrid big standard one. Nice easy job and looks abs feels million times better.

They are a great car. Need some help in the sound department though as they sound like most modern cars, boring.

where did you get the later style gearstick from? as ive been struggling to source one in the uk
Hi. I have gone back to the original and sold that one. It was a captur one. Search 2018 on captur gearknob. You need the gear gaiter too as the old one won’t fit. But it does look and feel much better.

Sprayed my tips black as I wasn’t a fan of the slight pitting I couldn’t remove or they looking surety quickly. Think they’ve turned out ok considering I couldn’t get the diffuser off! Ha. Also repurchased a captur gearknob. Fitted it and made do with my gaiter until I find a cheap one and bought some black nut covers to tidy it up a bit, think it looks much better.

Looks very well mate. I reckon spacers would be a good shout as the wheels look a bit lost in those rear arches!

Thank you. Yes im going to look into stub spacers for the rear. bit gutted because normally lowering these cars brings the wheels out. Although they are a bit more out than before, but def needs some spacing,

looks good, much nicer sitting a little lower. Really enjoyed my time in my 220. Id wrap that front blade black, i think that would set the front end off nicely
Thank you. I’m currently debating the front blade. I sprayed the silver side strips black, which look ‘ok’ from a distance but I’m happy with them. I think the blade would look good in black but maybe a little too much? It’s a fine line between murdered out and subtle.

Fitted some facelift rear lights today, pretty straight forward apart from a little bit of wiring needed. Look much better than pre facelift I think.

Also fitted an airtec cold side pipe. What an absolute nightmare it was! I’ve not sworn so much at this car as I have today doing this. Everything was against me, had to take front bumper off, crash bar top etc. all fitted and took it for a spin, feels a little smoother but I think it’s placebo. Gave it a bit of a kicking to see if anything popped off, but all good so far.

i fitted one of those cold side pipes mainly because the plastic ones are prone to split. ive got water/meth a airtec turbo cooler and intercooler to fit too then going to fit a bigger turbo. i dont think the cold pipe will see much improvement. i got the larger turbo intake kit from engine dynamics i fitted this weekend but need to tweek it to work with my itg. but facelift rear lights a massive improvement so are the led headlights

@karlos0891 Yeah I don’t think it will do much, but there is definitely a smoother flow for the air and it’s a wider diameter so maybe some improvement of some kind somewhere.
yeah the lights are awesome and such an improvement. I was looking at the larger intake thing, how is it?

its great seems to make my car happier and can hear intake noises more through the itg only issue is the pipe has compressed in one area due to the bend so waiting for a joiner to be able to cut it so i can twist one bend seperate to the other to get rid of that then be alot better. but it is bigger. mine has the same turbo as the 220 trophy being an euro 6 model so the euro 5 models have a smaller trumpet. mine is a hl turbo not hm like euro 5 models

I might look at one of those, someone on the bookface page does a 220 trumpet and silicone hose for about £125 odd but didn’t know if it would make a difference. Glad to know it does.
have you changed your hot side silicone pipe too?

hot side is still standard but will be changing with airtec intercooler just be metal pipe off turbo left thats standard tbh. ill be getting rid of my factory trumpet which is same as the 220 one but its not got a silicone hose. but would be a good way to see if there is a difference and how big it is

Well thanks to @karlos0891 I got a ph2 intake and fitted it. It’s a larger, smoother pipe which matches the turbo intake in diameter. Can’t say if it’s any different, but there is less restriction so must be a worthwhile mod just to improve air flow.
also fitted an updated Intercooler pipe from the ic to the hotside pipe. Managed to get a black one, wanted red but beggars can’t be choosers. This is better than standard because the standard one is so flimsy it collapses and expands under load, which again isn’t ideal.

glad you got it fitted. ive fitted rear interior lights to mine today. just waiting on final parts to fit the facelift fog lights to mine to match the led headlights not sure why we never got rear inter lights tbh

@karlos0891 oh wow that’s a great idea! I’m not sure why either. Led bulbs in the front helps with seeing stuff, but the back is still very dark. I’ve fitted a sunglasses holder to the drivers side, meant cutting the roof liner but after doing that I won’t be cutting the roof liner again!

i didnt mind cutting the lining for these. went for the facelift leds in the front then found two more to fit to the side where they sit in the mk5 clio. but i understand the not wanting to cut into it. slowly getting mine to where i want her just a shame going to have to replace both thermostats

yeah one rated at 95c at end of head. need a gasket plus thermostat looks like a few bolts to take it off and undo top radiator hose. bottom one is rated to 82c and is on the back of the waterpump its alot easier to remove bumper and radiator pack but obviously without disconnecting the ac rad from the system or it would need regassing and not meant to let it vent to atmosphere lol. my bottom one has failed so causing me an airlock in the bottom rad hose even vacuum bleeding wont bleed it fully. they have released a different bottom hose but i cant work out how it works due to how the current cooling system is set up

Where did you get the black badges ? Or did you remove them and spray them up?
EBay, there are a cheaper set that I purchased which fitted ok and the more expensive diamond performance ones.
Both just fit over the original badges and look a lot better.
