I've got my plate back off of my Audi now, so just got to go into the DVLA and transfer it on, got the plates made up already
Here's a pic of the car this morning filthy and iced up, using it as my daily so need to get some winter tyres on as its getting a bit too sideways now even at low speed :race:
Love this in white looks proper cool. Are the rear lights standard with the white across the middle? Just asking as one of my boss's has a convertible with similar rears and I think they ruin the rear end look of the car.
The clear rear lights are standard on I THINK 08 onwards cars, I think they look alot better than the red ones but personal choice i guess. The central coloured part is the same colour as whatever the car colour is.
The car had a good wash today and a polish, standard me though, I forgot to get good pictures. Here's some I did take though...
Got a Carbon Fibre Radiator cover that I used to run on my GT4 Race car, looks nicer and is lighter...
And the only proper exterior shot I got was when I got home...
So over the winter we had in my 2011 race GT4 Aston for a overhaul and its got the race aero package on it which I helped AMR develop. Just thinking aloud and interested in what you lot would think of it on the road car....is it a bit too much & a bit too much 'boy racer YO'??
Have a look at some pictures n give your thoughts...(p.s ignore the union jack stickered end plates on the rear wing, they wouldn't be stickered if i put the aero kit on the road car)
So the snow has really killed the use of the Aston over the last 10 days, tbh its not moved off the drive :-(. Anyway with more snow apparently coming tomorrow night and the fact I cannot deal with another weekend stuck in the house, I decided to go all Rally Sl*g and put some proper wheels and tyres on it just incase it does snow more.
As well as the Race Astons we have and run we also run all four Aston Martin Rally GT's ever built. So we have some proper 'Monte Carlo Rally snow spec' pirelli tyres in stock and I fitted them on to a set of the rally rims.
Went to drive the car to the workshop to change them up but it couldn't even get off the drive, just sat there wheel spinning even though the standard road tyres have more than enough tread depth. They are just crap at any temperatures below 5 degrees. So loaded up the van with trolley jack, wheel gun and the wheels and tyres and changed them over at home.
With the new tyres on it drove off the drive as if there was no snow at all! Bloody Awesome things :hail:
Before and after pictures of the car:
Plates getting changed Monday
Oh and also here is some youtube vids of the Rally Astons:
So I have wanted to update the body work on my car from the pre 2011 spec:
To the Vantage S look:
Started this afternoon on one of our ramps at work:
And then proceeded to remove the wheels, inner wheel arches, rear lights (to access some of the rear bumper bolts) and then finally the front and rear bumpers..
Quickly hung the front bumper on to check the paint match which was spot on and got me all excited for it to be finished..
Replacing the already uprated AM Sports Pack dampers...
With these shiny shiny Nitron R3 Race Dampers will post updates of fitting them and routing the remote reservoirs!
Some more upgrades in the pipeline too which I will post about in due course! Let me know your thoughts all!
