Whichever has fuel
1989 Ford orion 1.6i Ghia.
Bought and collected it today from Wakefield which was an 11 hour round trip... And it's still in Yorkshire! I had to collect Mike Jenics 172 Cup that I bought off him 2/3 weeks ago and took a mate to drive the orion back. But we got there and the car has been standing for years so didn't want to risk it breaking down as the Cup was another non runner and I can only fit one car on the back! lol.
Got to be honest, it's a heap. It's nowhere near as good as described and tbh, the seller barefaced lied to me in texts/emails/phonecalls. He said it had no rust at all and it's riddled with it. Needs new rear arches, new drivers door (I've got one) and needs some of the sill repairs re-doing because the welding is terrible... But I'd just driven 200 miles and I couldn't be bothered arguing with one of the dumbest human beings i've ever spoken to in my life so I just paid my money and left.
So Why did I buy it??
Its done 50,000 miles from new. I doubted that, but it's been sorn'd since 2010 and the last two owners before that were father and son, they had it for 12 years between them. Vosa check ties up, HPI is clean...
So basically I need to get it back home (probably use shiply, I can't be fcuked to drive all the way up there again!) and then decide what to do.
Option 1) Cut out the rear arches, fit new ones, repaint both sides of the car, wheel refurb, full service and cambelt kit, get the car ready for next summer and use it. Hopefully get to some Ford shows??
Option 2) Just sell it straight away and try and get my money back and find a better base car.
Option 3) Bodge it full of filler, hope the cambelt doesn't snap and punt it on for minimum profit.
Anyway, pic of it... (I'll update as and when I work on it)
