yeah, its future proof too, wll be a very high spec pc. but my old spec in others for sale if you want LOL

  Revels Mum & Sister
LOL is an awesome PC but NO pc is future proof.

I use the same CPU as well, sat here clocked at 3.3ghz stable with the Artic cooler at decent temps.

I have a Lian Li case with fans front and rear. Push and Pull runs spot on

THIS IS SamboRT

good stuff, ordered the alluminium mirage case (100 notes, ouch) and a thermaltake 750w PSU

:)

Job Done!

  Better than yours. C*nt.

Futureproof? Who you kidding - you've got a 2.66 Dual Core...

Not a bad spec PC, but unless you work for PC world then futureproof = support for 16+ cores or at least dual quad core, and a damn site more than a GTS...

tbh it'll be fine for 3-5 years IMO.

benchmark it with 3dmark06 im guessing you should hit 10k

My money is on 2 at a push if you carry on playing games at the level that will play now...

Intel still haven't let all the Core2 cats out of it's bag, and ATI have to properly take on the 8800 series, and nVidia have yet to respond to their challenge...

  Punto/Clio GTT
i spose its just what people perceive as "future proof".

to me i bought a good system that lasted 5 years that could play all new games on the low/middle settings, for me, thats when i need a new pc.

in 5 years time he'll be able to play all the games (with exception of few) just not on full whack

Truesay.

I'm just about to put up a thread on my new machine - ready for people to take a piece out of... Not quite finished as it's being 'borrowed' for software development but will be back and completed in a couple of weeks...

wow mate, cheers for the harsh opinions like!! lol

your system looks good, but, one day with a bit of luck, all of those water pipes will burst and empty there contents on your components, mother nature will do her best to destroy everything in there and your pockets will feel sore like a nuns chuff after her first going over by a hung black man.

sweet setup though mate!

fair play, but cost $$$$$ too much for me!

  Better than yours. C*nt.
Unfortunately, even if the pipes did burst, it's non-conductive fluid in there...

Just pointing out, you don't want to expect it to last years - my rig will be out of date this time next year and underspecced for what I will need it to do in two years...

As for the soundcard, my apologies - I just detest Creative Labs as they are a bunch of monkeys and couldn't write drivers if their lives depended on it.

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
mike waste of money.

it isnt a challenge! LOL

your pc will run everything im sure, full whack, wheres the fun in that!!!!!

the sound card is awesome, and whats up with the drivers, runs sweet for me, no problems!!

It's not a waste of money... It keeps me out of the 182 which means I keep my licence for longer!! Lol

The X-Fi is tosh. They claim how powerful it is, yet it has to 'switch' between games mode, entertainment mode and recording mode, and doesn't manage something as simple as on-the-fly DTS/DDLive encoding?

WTFP?

And search for X-Fi Driver, X-Fi Stutter or something on google. Not least of which it took months after the official release of Vista to get a driver out for their card... When every other manufacturer had drivers for RC2...

  Better than yours. C*nt.
P.S. You're going to lose the X-Fi argument. I've got one, and it lives in the cupboard as I took it out in favour of the Auzentec X-Meridian that I use now. Absolutely amazing card - the components and attention to detail make a phenomenal difference.

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
ahh well, my X-Fi does me!!

why do you run so many little hard discs, wont that just cause 4 times the heat?

why not get one big 500gb one instead?

  Revels Mum & Sister
Looks good, love the sound card, cant beat a good sound card.

Go for a simple but practical case, like this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-141-CM

Sound card is pish?! I'd sooner use onboard than that.

Look for the Auzentech stuff. Makes the Creative stuff look like the crap that it is.

Just like an Outboard DAC/T-AMP for probably less or the same will rape what you have suggested AND you can run it with proper speakers not the junk that Computer users are fed.

The creative arent the best. But I am sure for what he wants to do it will do it

  Revels Mum & Sister
LOL well there we go then

I would imagine with that and what ever speakers you are running it would sound better than what Mike has ;)

What speakers you running?

  C63 AMG, F430 & 172
currently use eltax with sand filled stands, after something a bit more upmarket soon...

been looking at either b&w or some mission floor standers.

are you an Audio Guru??

The Auzentec cards are designed for that sort of hardware - it's the Creative stuff that's designed for junk computer speakers...

I run mine through a Denon Theater-quality amp...

  Revels Mum & Sister
If you are using an Outboard DAC/AMP etc then I doubt there would be a massive difference between the creative the Auzentec in real life. Assuming the creative is actually working correctly LOL

Nah mate far from a Audio Guru. I know some stuff but not everything. Duckeatspork on here is very clued up and someone else name escapes me.

B&W wise I have a pair of Standmounts, 685, fantastic sounding. Worth a listen and IMO a bargain for £380.

Or if your feeling flush maybe the 705 Standmounts. Second hand can be had for £700-800
