My new track toy

  172cup turbo & rx8

picked it up a few weeks back with the intention of getting it straight in the garage for a light strip down/rebuild and track prep, however due to our poxy weather in the north east the misses couldnt use her car (rx8) because of the snow so shes been using it fir a while,
first impressions where how "fun" it was to drive, i havnt really driven a hot hatch for years, picked it up for a great price considering the condition its in

my initial idea before i picked it up was to strip every last thing from it to make it as light as possible, however as its in good nick i would still like to retain some drivability, i dont want to be towing it to trackdays!

im just doing a bit of reading up on them at the min, trying to decide which way to go with it

Looking good, plenty of info on here on how to get the best out of them power/corning/stopping wise :)

Stripping it completely gains you a bit on track, but loses you masses on the road. Perfectly easy to make it good for track (better seats, coilovers etc etc) but retain most of the interior.

That way rather than having a good track car that's horrible to use on the road, you end up with a good track car that's great fun on the road.

that seems to be the way to go to be honest, am currently planning a trip to "the ring" as we speak, just need to get the tyres and brakes sorted first
