My number plate and insurance

Just checked for a quote online with Tesco, and their registration checking thing threw out my car as a bottom of the range 1.2! At first I thought I'd just got a really good quote for my 172 :D

So, is this just their website being a bit stupid and only picking up on it being a Renault, or does it mean the number plate was switched at some point...?

The DVLA log book all seems correct, doesn't indicate any changes, etc.

Ive had it happen before with my 172 as well. I'd just make sure theyve got it right on you policy/quote and wouldnt worry. If your concerned use the RAC vehicle checker which is free and will tell you the cars details.

Mine always comes up as a 1.6 Dynamique but is a 182. Its a problem with the search engines. It did it on my old megane as well. Just change the details manually and you will get the correct quote. :D

The reason this happens is we (tesco) and other insurance companies use old data provided by the DVLA, at one point they may have had your vehicle down wrong. Occasionaly they do bring up the wrong vehicles

haha and mine the other way round!

used to always come up as a 172

Yeah, first time I was looking for quotes for a full year after getting my 172. Tried direct line 1st and almost jumped off my seat when it came up with £400-£500. Exitement soon disappeared when I realised it had my car down as a 1.2, pff.
