That looks great buddy.

Good to see someone bucking the trend of driving a horrendous looking car at 17 (myself included back in the day )

Sorry just saw this mate, haha thanks :) but tbh if it wasnt for me finding cliosport i can almost 100% guarantee my car would be all bodykitted up which now i look back makes me shiver, what was i thinking haha

Small update!

Recently its been like my car knows i have some spare cash, so its decided that things are going to break. So i have managed to convince my cousin to give me a hand and were gonna go at it and see if we can get everything done in a weekend. At the moment the list is:

Wheel bearing - Bought and fitted, all done
2x rear tyres - tread is very low and i have a screw in one
brake pads - bought, need to fit
Brake fluid - need to get some and sort that
ABS ring - bought, need to fit
new adjuster ring for n/s coilover - need to source one
irritating squeek from o/s/f wheel
Engine light on - need to plug it in
Clutch is slipping - bought, ready to fit.

Hopefully after that the car should be ok, for a few days at least haha. then back to mods where i would really like a set of xenons in time for the winter months and my chrostmas list has already started haha and it has a cup spoiler on it.

Cheers :)

Update!

Been meaning to sort a few issues that the car has had for a while, had the parts but havent had the time. So last weekend i set about getting as many as possible fixed. Following on from my previous update that has a list of what needs doing.

Front pads - Now fitted
ABS ring - now fitted

Also my car has been running rich for a few months, got it plugged in and lambda sensor was the source, so that has been changed. Fuel economy is now much better.

lastly, my slipping clutch has been getting worse, so got that changed. So as of 27th September 2014 the car has had a new clutch fitted.

List now follows:
4x new tyres
brake discs
brake fluid
fit new rear exhaust mount
get cambelt & waterpump changed for piece of mind
O/S ball joint

Also removed my sunstrip, as i started to hate it. much batter now, as i have this whole part of the windscreen that i never new existed.

Probably more but i cant remember

Update!
So following on from this thread http://www.cliosport.net/threads/opinions-on-plastidipping.758876/ I have now plastidipped my car matte white (Kind of). washed the car, masked it up and prepped the paint then started spraying however irritatingly ran out of paint about 3 cans before, would have been 2 but i have a faulty can :rage: So the parts i wanted white are now white but with a shade of black, have realised it is quite hard going from black to white. Used 3 thin layers and 2 thick layers but hopefully order up the new cans, wait for a nice day and finish it off. Im quite liking it at the moment though haha:tearsofjoy:

That's just how the hanger is. Very poor.

Not a fan of the White. You either need more layers or to get rid

Trust me my paint is f****d, dents, scratches, cracks, poor resprays, from a far looks nice but up close it's pretty terrible, the paint will look much more even after a few coats

Planning to add quite a few more layers, as I said, I ran out of paint so have to put up with it like this right now. As for the hangers, luckily they are visible but not thick so another coat should cover then up, they were from the fault can than kind of exploded and dripped everywhere

Oh just looked mint from the pictures on here lol.
Why not just use plasty dip stuff evenones using these days?????
It is plastidip ☺, thats why i went with it as i thought if i dont like it i just peel it off, and its quite firgiving for amateurs with it being matte. Annoying i ran out though, wanted to buy more cans but im skint and its £16 a can

did you manage to finish plastidipping this? i reckon it'll look decent when its finished, good work so far
No didnt finish it in the end, realised i would need quite a few more cans to make it good enough to sell like that and would end up costing way more than i wanted it to so just peeled it off.

About time i brought this thread up to date.

As above, ended up peeling the pastidip off as would have cost way more than i would have liked, instantly regretted it though as peeling it off took a good 3 days to do and still not done, it went everywhere! Bad news is that the plastidip took the lacquer off the side strips, side skirts, door handles and front bumper which had been poorly repsrayed, this gave me the opportunity to get that sorted however which i had been wanting to do for ages.

So a few weeks back, i was at a carboot that i attend every week and a guy was selling crates of good quality aerosol cans cheap after a store closed down. So picked up all the pearl black cans he had which ended up totalling about £10 (6 cans). I then took my time and sanded down and properly repsrayed everything except from the bumper. with lacquer and primer ended up about £25 all in and it turned out amazing for a rattle can job. All i need now is a new front bumper and done!

Also picked up a set of turnis in silver, refurb isnt great but im going to roll with them anyway (pun not intended) so 2 are off getting new tyres fitted and the other 2 should be fitted this week. Then i plan to sell the 182 alloys to regain some of my money.

lastly, due to the long distance to work, the exhaust had to go sadly, sounded awesome but wasnt practical, so that is sold pending payment and i then plan to buy a second hand standard one and the money i get from it is going to go on a new rear bumper without a cut out.

Thats about where it is at the moment, im trying to stop spending and start saving for a new car but its failing horrifically.

So my car is practically finished. Its taken around a year and a half but all the major jobs are now done and there is only a few small jobs left.

My turinis have had 4 continentals put on them and are now on the car, so my 182 alloys are now up for sale. Had some issues with rubbing with the larger tyres but that is now cured with some new spacers.

And now courtesy of @Fudge i have new front and rear bumpers along with a set of 25mm hubcentric spacers instead of my dodgy old 32mm ones. Picked them up yesterday afternoon and spent all day fitting them today. Spacers are much nicer, front bumper looks a million times better as it is now all black and shiny and rear bumper has no cutout or bad scratches. Really pleased with the outcome.

Need to give it a good wash and polish and should be looking good.

Some before and afters and a shot of the spacers

Cheers mate, i would like one but am happy with my standard one at the moment, they do make such as difference to the rear though which i making me sway my mind.

Thanks mate,. Small screw on the back, easy to do!
How did you remove the old one though?

Like the spacers need to get some for my cup does it rub?
little bit yeah, when im on full lock or going round roundabouts. Think its just where its quite low, want to raise it but my rear adjusters are siezed at the lowest point so if i raise the front it will end up higher than the front :S

Update.
So as with probably most people on here, got a few car related items for xmas

Mainly a few car cleaning bits as would like to get into all that. Also got a 3m headlight restoration kit and a debobbler.

I will now bombard this update with lots of different pics of my front seats, which really badly needed debobbling.

My anti roll bar bushes now need replacing as they knock when i go over a bump, also need some new unsiezed rear adjusters to raise the rear. Just bought a new exhaust mount to go with the new standard exhaust. Next is to refurb my headlights and might do the led dash conversion

thanks for reading!

All bits are now bought for the dash conversion. Waiting for them to turn up now. Came to a total of £7.60 for everything delivered for speedo, radio display, heater panel, lock/heater switches and window switches.

Headlights now refurbed with the 3m kit. Pic doesnt do it justice at all but not that completley happy with the outcome, heard mixed review about the kit and its strange with the leap in grades - 500, 800, 3000. Which im assuming why its not really shiney and there are still loads of small scratches in it? Might give it another go at some point but not utill at the spring.

My lights went the same with that kit. Better, but not perfect!
yeah its wierd, oh well they will have to do for the time, tbh im happy with any improvement just wished they would have come out a bit more shiney for the cost of the kit. Might buy some xenons im not sure yet though.

Smallish update:

So i decided i needed a pressure washer. Mainly as at the moment im using a hose and a spray gun and thought why not as i can also have a go at snow foam with the pressure washer aswell. After lots of deliberation and speaking to @AlexCarter about pressure washers amongst reviews i had narrowed it down. Wanted one with a foam attachment (no idea if they are any good in comparison to the proper ones) but the washer of choice was out of stock at my local argos, waited a couple of days 1 came back in stock again so picked it up today. Yeah its a lot of fun

Also finally sorted my issue with the seized adjusters for my coilovers on the rear. Managed to get a set of @MWright - cheers mate! Fitted them yesterday but unsure if i like it that high haha, will wait for spring and then lower both front and rear. Might also get some spacers for the rear as looking a little lost in the arches. You can kind of tell what side i was testing the pressure washer on haha

Just need to sort a small puncture on the front and also need a brake refresh and new top mounts as one has started randomly coming loose and squeking?

Smallish update
Finally finished my LED interior upgrade, purchased everything seperatley and it only came to £8 delivered and the result is unbelievable, definaltey worth doing. However was a massive pain with the wrong soldering iron, then invested in one with a smaller tip and made the job so much easier. Might take the heater panel back out and change the filter as its looking a little green compared to the rest. Speedo was a nightmare, only really because of having issues with the speedo itself and not having the time to leave the car with the dash in pieces for testing. I would definatley reccomend it but only if you are pretty handy with a soldering iron. Anyway pics:

Pics make the speedo and radio display much brighter than they actually are, their not that bright in person.

thanks for reading!

Finally managed to get a weekend where nothing was planned, so got to work on my brakes.

Picked up a set of Brembo discs and pads along with some fluid about a month ago but only got round to fitting today. Bleed nipples were a bit of a pain but all in all wasnt too bad. Fuild was pretty bad and brakes are soo much better, hoping for them to improve even more once they wear in aswell.

Then gave it a quick wash as it was nasty and removed my front N/s wheel as it has a puncture, will sort it tomorrow but secretly like the steelie look actually.

Just ordered new top mounts and bearings along with a track rod end (as i replaced one side a few months back) hoping to tighten up my steering after all that it fitted. Then will get the tracking done and should all be good. Just saving for a new car at the moment so mods are slowing but keeping on top of any issues. few pics:
