My Stealth Black Mk2 1.2 172 Rep

Looks really nice Luke! Good job! I'd definitely remove the Renault Sport badge from the back though, just personal opinion.
Thanks mate! :) I know what you mean, I did have it off for a few months a while back but i wasnt too keen on the holes and the badge was cheap to start off with so was a good way to cover em up. I was debating as it isnt a sport it shouldt be on there but thought considering all the other sport stuff thats on it the badge just adds to the whole lot

That's fair enough mate. Each to their own after all.
I saw a little Clio billabong (1.2) the other day.. had absolutely nothing done to it whatsoever barring the 2.0 door bullets.. :l
Wasn't sure if it was deliberate or they'd gone down a breakers yard because their door strips got stolen.. Haha.

Car looks well mate has come a long way
Thanks mate! haha yeah i guess it has, cant even remember how it looked when i first got it with all the changes its had aha

True mate, will do until i can afford something quicker. haha gonna be very believable to the untrained eye with those bullets :/ at least not as bad as some things you see on the road 😂

To do list now is:
re-refurb headlights as wasnt pleased with the last outcome
give it a good clean along with polish/wax/etc once weather warms up
fit track rod end
fit top mounts
whilst fitting mounts, remove coilies and qive them a lick of paint and replace the broken adjuster with the new one i got
Cambelt
work out what is causing the slight knock along with sorting the knock from the exhaust on idle
Lower it a little then sort tracking

Smallish update
Decided to get a new set of alloys as a set i was interested came up on ebay so decided on a change. Turinis are now up for sale btw. Been having issues with the top mount spacers, will resolve it asap and fit them properly, have bought some track rod ends for a bit of a suspension refresh then will get the wheel alignment done

I like the wheels, the pics make them look larger than they are but they are 16's. Now they are fitted i definatley feel the car needs to go lower, O/S front needs to go slightly lower and rears loads then i think the wheels will look great. I know they are not turinis so 99.999% of cliosport will hate them but couldnt be bothered refurbing them again, The wheels are OZ Racing Record alloys if anyone was wondering, apparently a rare wheel. Another update soon, after sorting suspension, still just saving for a new car so not much else will probably happen on the clio apart from fixing the issues, etc.

An update i guess, just doing this so i can point the new owner to it so they can see what has been done:

Not much has been happening to it as have lost interest and saving like mad for a new car as renewal is in June and can afford to insure a car i have wanted for a while. Been sorting all the smallish issues it has that i am fine with but i know the new owner will pick holes in when comeing to view the car

As its been sunny recently i gave the car a really good clean, consisting of a few new parts i got for my birthday. So the car was cleaned in this order:
Rinse
Snow foam
rinse
wash
Rinse - then following stages with de-tar, iron-x and AF Citrus
rinsed and clayed
Wash again and rinse
dryed with AF drying towel
polish with AF Tripple
2 coats of wax
the wheels sealed, tryres and plastics dressed and interior given a going over

Have changed the battery and engine cover as both were needing done. have bought some bolts to the bay to clean it up a little. Also sorted 1 front coilover, still need to do the other.

To do list before June sale:
Cambelt
Service
Sort 1 interior dash LED
Front coilover refurb along with fitting new top mounts
engine bay tidy
tracking

Smallish update, following on from sorting issues for sale
Recieved my delivery of new bolts for the enginebay from carbolts.co.uk. Bought at 4pm on saturday and recieved this morning which is preety amazing considering the normal time poeple seem to take to ship something out.
A subtle detail but was bugging me having a mish-mash of different bolts, just need to give the bay a good clean and paint the engine mount bolts now:

Continuing on with the theme of fixing things for sale. Got a steering wheel radio controller as mine was missing. Also finally sorted the other coilover - took it off, cleaned it up, quick paint to make it a bit more presentable then all back together with the new top mount.

List now as follows:
Cambelt
Service
Sort 1 interior dash LED
tracking
Sort smallish exhaust rattle

Updateish
Will probably have 1 last update after this the thats it, car is going up for sale in 2 weeks so is full steam ahead. So going back a few weeks, my N/S coilover started leaking, and with the MOT due soon i needed to get a new one, luckily a fellow member on here had one in his garage and a deal was done. Recieved it and fitted it and now all is perfect with the suspension.

Again, sorting out the small bits for the sale of the car, managed to find someone breaking a clio on ebay who would consider sending me the airbag diamond, which he did. It is now fitted and although not a major difference, it is a subtle detail which now looks much better.

Getting closer to the present day, MOT was yesterday and yup it failed :unamused:, just on one thing though, emissions were high. Went over to a mates garage, who is just round the corner from the MOT station and took the inlet manifold off to clean it out, whilst i was there i replaced the air filter. MOT tester re-checked the emissions and although better, were still high. Had a chat with the tester and we both agreed it was the cat at fault, so on the way home stopped off at the motor factors and bought a cat and fitting kit. Now £105 lighter i set about fitting it and just finished. Hopefully this should sort it for the re-test on Monday.

On another note, decided to replace the gearbox oil as havent done it in my ownership. Bought that at the same time as the cat and will change that tomorrow if i have time.

Overall, this should be it, nothing as of today needs fixing. Finish college/exams on the 23rd and insurance runs up on the 24th, then on the hunt for my new car. Will be a shame when it is sold and hope it goes to a fellow enthusiast, but cant live with a 1.2 for another year and for an extra £4 a month can now insurance a 2.0 diesel. Insurance on a 182 is pushing £4grand without the box, have 100% guaranteed to myself that i will buy a 182 when im 19 as insurance drops a tonne. But with insurance and payment being very low now that i will be getting a full time job, i will probably buy a cheap 182 in about 4-6 months and spend the next 6 bringing it up to standard and making it my own, as i need a project to do and my new car is far from needing anything done to it.

Will upload a couple of pics once flikr hurrys up
