Finally got the chance to fit it after a little guidence from off here lol. Money well spent. Wether its the noise but it seems to pull so much better/smoother. If anyone is considering getting one, do it. Great piece of kit.

Re: My thoughts on the JMS setup

Cool, we went to a dyno day yesterday and Paul did two runs, first with v6 airbox and second with standard setup. There was less than 1bhp difference and the STD box made better torque!

interesting is that, was it your cup been tested or a ph1? i thought the v6 airbox was better than the standard ph2?

Re: My thoughts on the JMS setup

The gains made or lost by changing the airbox are so minimal it wouldnt bother me to hear ive lost 2bhp if my engine bay looks better and the car sounds meaner.

FLOL! Supreme! I've said it before and i'll say it again! The V6 airbox is NO better than oem! Waste of money! Agree Re. Torque aswell, i found this with all three IK's i had.

If you fit an induction kit expecting to see gains then your a mug basically, its all about the noise!!

Yeh pretty much, this isn't an isolated case either. It's the same for BMW, Audi etc. Gains are so minimal, if at all.

Cheers. I wasnt expecting massive gains as im well aware there wont be. I love the car just wanted it to be a tad louder. Im happy anyway.

have JMS stopped selling these, the thread has disappeared in their section

I PM'd JMS a couple of days ago as I thought the same, they are still selling them, their sorting out their trade page and website at the same time I was informed.
I'm just waiting for a price and will then consider my options, a bit disheartened by the performance figures shown here though as their developement thread showed some very different results.

I have just fitted one of these , even if you do it just for the noise it's worth it, Sounds very very good!

Question for those of you who are now running this setup - what have you done with the cold air feed? the one attached to the acoustic valve, removed the whole thing? or just left it?

You may as well remove it, its not doing anything now.

I've just moved mine away from the intake hole, jammed it up by the battery so it doesn't get in the way of the air coming in through the grill. I do plan on removing the acoustic valve just aint got round to it yet.

I also have just put the old intakes to one side. Mainly because if i go back to standard it will be easier. But again down to personal choice. Still loving mine btw he he.

I think everycar is different.

Since having a BMC CDA setup and now having the JMS setup my car is 100% a little bit quicker with better torque lower down.

Not sure over std setup mind. Bought my 182 with the BMC CDA on.

PSJ.

Definatly agree with the low down torque. Much better. Seems less strangled, if that makes sense?

Hi mate. I got mine 2nd hand off here. Did try a few times to get in touch with JMS direct, but no joy. And the answer to the question 'how easy are they to fit?' If i can do it, you can lol. Ten mins tops. Look out in the for sale section on here, or try JMS direct. Brand new they are 140 ish. I paid 135 for mine. In heinsite i wish i bought one brand new, but we wont go into that.

Cheers Dan, much appreciated. guess I have to be a cliosport member to view the for sale sections? I will sort it over the weekend!!! Seems quite dear, although they look smart!!

What's the diference between this and the carbon fibre part I've seen around ? (sorry for the daft questions, quite new to me all of this)?

Cheers,

I'm still interested in an IK (mainly for noise) but I dont want it at the cost of power. the BMC CDA I tried lost me 15lb of torque and 9bhp which is why I only run a better panel filter now

There a good price for a decent piece of kit. There seems to have been alot of research into finding the best/beneficial products to use. And if you do a search alot of people recommend them. Im quite anal when it comes to buying stuff so i can assure you i looked into all different types before i chose this one. Carbon fibre one? Not sure mate, sorry. My opinion- Worth getting one.

Best of both worlds with the JMS one though?

It's not relevant tbh so I will say something that is! I noticed a nice increase in power and torque mid range after fitting this kit along with exhaust/remap although it does make a weird fizzing noise? Does anyone elses?
