Happened today while removing the hub to do a bearing change. Turned out the spline was seized in the front hub and was pulled out while the hub was removed.

This is what I have. What's the deal here? How do I refit the rubber? Process to what's next?

Thanks, Mark.

Pic is taken by looking underneath it with the hub being on the left hand side.

If you cannot work the boot back onto the shaft, remove the 3 bolts holding the retaining plate to the box to give you something to work with.
Don`t forget to top up the gearbox oil.

Yes Steve, after some research that's the way to go.

Thats a job for tomorrow as ive had enough today! What oil is it and how much? In litres, not price!

PM coming your way soon regarding driveshafts....

Good excuse to change the gearbox oil if it's not been done before.

Think it takes 3.1 litres but you never get it all out so 3 litres is enough.

I used the Elf NFJ stuff in mine.

Yeh that's the stuff, that shop on eBay was cheapest place to get it as well when I got mine last year.

Thank you chaps.

Unfortunately I need it tomorrow as ill need the car for the week so itll have to be a halfords job as thats all that's open on a Sunday. Clutch and O/S driveshaft are getting changed next weekend anyway so could always get better stuff later in the week.

After some research and a phone call from my good friend Alex (AlexW on here) all I need to do is undo the 3 bolts, pull out the shaft and refit the rubber and reverse the process. This has been clarified by @stevem :)

Hopefully tomorrow will be as simple as writing what needs doing!
