Need help! Mk3 heater resistor..

Hi guys, hope someone can help me here, I've looked around to see how I go about replacing the heater resistor in my mk3. The heater only works on settings 1 and 3, would like to fix it myself but can't seem to find out how I access it?

Has anyone on here done this and is it a quick fix? Thanks in advance!

Ok, so this is where I'm at. I think this is the problem? If anyone can help verify this before i go ahead wrecking something it would be appreciated.

Also, the red and black wires. I can buy a replacement with these wires with it, or without. Are they soldered on the the resistor or do they have to be attached. If so, where does the red/black wires finish so i can disconnect them also. Thanks!
