Need Lappy

Car  dCi 65 + C2 (<Sold)
Been asked to find a laptop for my future bro-in-law.

Budget: £500

Use: Media basically.

Needs: MS Office 2007

I was never really in touch with Laptops and now I don't have a bloody clue, but I'm sure you can get a more than ample laptop for far less than £500 to meet the requirements?

Note: No netbooks.

Thanks in advance.

And you want to be in IT

or

Something with 3GB RAM or more 160GB Hard Drive or more

15.4" Screen or bigger

Vista with a Windows 7 upgrade (should be default, but double check EDIT: http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Windows_7_Upgrade/page.asp)

etc etc

Something like this: http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/t...rvices_N0073503_new?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs

Office is available at extra cost through the menus, but there are much cheaper ways of getting it. If you catch my drift? ;)

Don't go for HP if you want my advise.

I.T is quite varied. ;)

Thanks very much. Yeah I get your drift but we're dealing with newb here so it's legit all the way. I'm not paying so meh!

Using it for media, you need big disk typically. Office 2007 - you pay for it and you slaughter a chunk of your budget - best guesstimate is you'll end up having £400 to spend on a laptop, which leaves you with a fairly s**t one.

www.ndc.co.uk is a good shout if you've seen a Dell you like.
