Neighbours morning about my yozza decat

Well since I have offered to do something about it,and he said don't worry,that should make a good defence if it go's further,as I have been very reasonable about it.All my details are in order insurance ect and I think decats may be a bit of a grey area with police as such,more of a vosa thing I think,although I know they can instruct the police to do something about it,bit like tinted windows,was done for tinted windows in my old car,by the police but acting under vosa.That pi**ed my off at the time as the car had just passed a mot which is regulated by vosa,should have had my day in court with that one.

this sort of thing happens all the time. had it before with an escort rs turbo with full mongoose exhaust, then with an impreza sti with full decat and h&s jap style backbox, which was LOUD! noise annoys people at the end of the day, it annoys me, seagulls waking me up annoys me, noisey mopeds annoy me, if somebody was waking me up everymorning next door to me with a chavvy noisey exhaust id be p*ssed off too. its just a fact of life, u either change your exhaust or put up with being hated by all the neighbours and expect some unexpected punctures and dents on your car after a while. your choice. Ps. yozzas arent loud. lol.

who needs an alarm, luckily he sold it 3 weeks after buying it, woke my 2 year old up also every morning.....

my decat 172 is loud, but i didnt put the exhaust on, however, it is my car, so i pootle up the road slowly in first when go out early

I've had this before and when I said I was going 40 in a 40 zone, they said I wasn't because my car was loud so I was going at least 60! Haha

My response was just because I don't change gear every time the car hits 1k revs doesn't mean I'm speeding.

I work from home only go out now and again for meetings and to go to site,never start the car normally until about 9 o'clock am and I very rarely come home late at night,so I don't think I am waking anyone up,unless they work nights.

That thing was stupidly loud i live on a different street and could hear it in the mornings as he started it up!

Never bothered me though. My exhaust similar at the moment with massive hole of rust in it.

What you need is to arrange drive by's at 6am every morning for a week.

Include cars like scoobys, evo's, TVR's and anything else loud you can think of. Make your car seem silent after a few days.

I used to live in a terrice town house so tha garage was underneath. My prospeed decatted 172 cup used to make the living room floor of mine the the 2 joining houses shake when i rolled in. They complained all the time. lol

Expanding foam up your neiboughs exhaust pipe. Then sit back and watch he starts his car and it goes boom.

Or fills up with exhaust fumes and he suffocates, prob not the best move!

Anyway mate contrary to what you say I imagine you honing up the street not at speed but with revs just so you can hear your awesome Yozza ect.. blah blah blah. Anyway just think of it from their pov. He's not being nasty he's just saying that your car is very loud and if you can possibly keep it down a little.

If you can't drive it any quieter than you are then explain that to him but be respectful. I look forward to hearing from you when you're that age.

Just drive as quietly as you can in your road and don't rev it.

There was a guy down our road who had an MR2 with a GIANT exhaust on it, sounded ridiculous, luckily he got rid of it.

tell them to fcuk off imho. or at the very least turn their hearing aids down. you should also point out that it only has 1 exhaust pipe, but 2 tailpipes. tell him thats to halve the noise it would be if just 1 tailpipe, and youd be willing to modify the car to that if he so wishes.

Hopefully when I am older,I will remember I was young once and enjoyed a bit of noise.As for honing up the street,I don't,yozza's do sound awesome,but I do understand they are not every ones cup of tea.

i get this alot with my MK2 escort, its a straight through exhaust and its running on twin 40 dcoe's so it makes a fair old amount of noise, on colder mornings i have to warm it up for about otherwise the oils still like syrup (20w50) one morning i went out and started it and popped back inside for a cuppa when all of a sudden i heard the car cut out... turns out my neighbour had climbed over the wall, turned the car off and taken the keys into his house with him and refused to give them back until i made the car quiet, so i got the clio and the mrs car and parked them both accross the end of his driveway so he couldnt go anywhere, to which he still refused to give my keys back, so i called the police who came round and politely explained that if he didnt give my keys back he'd be under arrest for attempted theft of a motor vehicle..... guess his plan didnt work out according to plan, as since then a louder more agressive exhaust has been fitted, and the air filters removed from the carbs so it sounds about twice as loud as it did then, funny though as he doesnt complain about the noise anymore!

Nice,so the police didn't say anything about your car then,as I am sure he must have said something to them.

And sir dave sorry for having a clio and like you say its your opinion and it's been said so many times on this site it's boring.If you like loud exhausts on a clio you have a yozza it's a nice loud imo,if you don't like loud exhausts you don't have a yozza full stop,I know this is also boring lol

Loud exhausts are fine if you live nowhere near civilisation or residential areas.

But, sooner or later, one of your neighbours will get the serious asshole on and you'll find yourself going out to your clio one morning and finding it's been "detailed" using keys, bricks or petrol.

my close neighbours love me since i do little jobs to their cars that they would otherwise get bent over by a garage for,
and i come home at around 3am most weekends, luckily i live on a hill and just roll all the way down and into my drive.

if its during the day however, i couldnt give two hoots!
