The girlfriend has now got the 207 GTI so it has worked out well .

I still say the 207 GTI is a good car ( if it is working ) and would fit all of my needs but it does not excite me and as much as I tried I could never love / get excited about the car even tho I did like it if that makes sense .

Had the first small problem with the Z .

The cooling fans are not kicking in ( common problem ) and the engine will overheat if left at idle .

Nissan want over £ 850 for the fans so have got the below on order with some other bits .

My 350 looked identical, good choice.

I also had the cooling fan problem, overheated on my twice and chucked coolant everywhere. I ended up paying £800 to get it fixed at Nissan, then sold it a few months later.

Love the noise of these.

Been a busy boy this weekend but I have installed all of the below with no major problems ( gear box filler nut and the inlet stud removal ) .

A few pic

First up an engine flush and oil and filter change .

Then was a gearbox oil change

Removed the broken rad fans

Then was the Inlet pendulum spacer

Spark plug change was next

A quick belt change as old one was not in good nick

Then install the new rad fans after some joining of the wires

Then on to the last bit the K & N typhoon

Al done

Next up is a Uprev ( ECU map and de limiter top speed 1 , 2 , 3 gear throttle ) to finish this off .

At the weekend I did the diff oil change

parts .

The filler plug was a PITA to get off but a bit of heat sorted this .

The plug had some shavings and sludge on it and the oil was a darker honey colour so a change was a good plan .

So on Friday I went up to Abbey Motorsport to have some Cobra HFC and a Milltek Y pipe fitted and the Uprev done .

The car started off with low ish numbers but saw some good gains in the end .

+ 19.3 BHP and + 12.9 LB/FT

Converting this in to old money ( on a rolling road and not hub dyno ) this should add 30-40 extra BHP / LB/FT and make the car around 275 BHP an 260 LB/FT

The car Is loosing power and torque with the K & N typhoon fitted as the temp was going up and the std exhaust will not help this as well so if I change this and add a V/S to the air intake we would see around another 7-10 but the extra noise of the K & N is worth the loss so this will be staying .

It was on a Hub dyno so around 30-40 if it was on a rolling road .

Gains were 19.3 BHP at the Hub

I bloody hope you paid less than £465 lol. Fairly spectacular profit margin as far as induction kits go.

Little bit quicker than a MK 6 GOLF GTI I found in my one .

handle nice bit heavy at 1525 KG for the GT pack ones .

I love my one for the looks and noise alone .

Only one point to note is that parts and tuning part are not cheep for this car and you will never gain a lot of BHP on this engine as most make 250 ish not the 275 the book said .

I end up looking at these once every 6 months as a guy at the top of the hill I live on had an S15 and went to a 350z so always wanted to ask why, But watched a bunch of video's on youtube of these and just the noise alone is a beauty!

Another update time .

On Monday went to Abbey Motorsport for some suspension parts and to turn off the engine light that came on after the Uprev .

First was two new banana arms

Then a Whiteline front anti roll bar set to soft with Whiteline drop links .

Then a Whiteline rear anti roll bar set to soft with Whiteline drop links .

And today I set the rear up to medium for the ARB

Car is now much more tight and flat and turn in Is much sharper .

Next small update got round to fitting a few bits .

First up some CREE LED number plate lights

Got the chance to use my G3 wax today after it stopped raining

So this weekend was the brake upgrade / change .

Fist up was to remove the front discs and pads .

Front disc not in good shape

Or the pads

Then to fit the new front disc and pads

Then the front S/S brake lines

Then on to the rears with old disc and pads removed

Then to fit the new disc and pads

And the new S/S lines

Then it was a brake fluid flush / bleed to finish off .

And a quick oil and filter change .

Ok so after putting a few miles and bedding the brakes in I can report on the set up .
The old brakes were not in the best of shape so any change would be an improvement .
First up is the pedal feel with the new S/S lines the travel so much shorter and the feel so much firmer and all of the dead / squish feel is removed and just a firm reassuring pedal .
Next up is the stopping power from the new discs and the DS2500 pads all round .
Very very strong stopping and no fade even from 70 MPH speeds .
If anyone is thinking about this set up I am very impressed so far .

A few more updates over the weekend I got done .

Fist up was to clean then condition the leather seats .

Then was the boot counter weight removal ( boot does not pop up all the time due to this weight )

Then last up was to re adjust the aux and air con belts as there was a little slack and squeaking on start up .

Boot was still a bit sticky so put some plastic washers in the boot spring to fix this and make the boot pop up more .
