New Clio 197 price - Bad move Renault!

As I am sure many of you have received a pre-order communication from Renaultsport on the new 197, can't help thinking that Renault have got the price point so wrong on this car!

Just went in and priced up my Clio and was suprised to see a price tag of just under £18,000. It would appear that what was standard on the previous model is now a chargeable option.

Bad move, clearly they were not listening to potential buyers, or current owners, or am I wrong?

Just wait a while, discounts will be out soon. The trophy was £15500 new and so was the 182, people were picking them up for £13500. Granted you have to pay for the extras. Take it for a test drive im sure you will soon spend the extra £1500

Already a thread open on this. BTW, I agree, dangerously close to bigger and better car money once you add the toys that used to be standard. (I had a bit of a rant about this in the other thread!)

I think most people will have learnt from the 182, first of all there wasn't going to be a cup version and then dealers discounted the price by a 2-3K.

Give it 12 months for all the problems to come out the wood work then it may be worth a purchase if it's the car Renault claim it to be.
