6 hours+

Clutch is cheap under £80 I'm sure its the labour

You need a new sump washer 1p at renault and new gearbox oil realy so £20~50 depends what stuff you get.

needs to be done at a garage edde?

btw i must apologise for not coming over and having a chat at the middo meet the other evening, you were on my meet and greet list as it were, but only found out who you were when i was about to head off (late).

Needs to be done at a garage realy if you don't have any skills it can be DIY'd just a pain.

No problem though

Does it slip Jamie? How many miles has she done? Im abit worried about mine as it bites right at the top?
Did Paul give any reasons?

think the rrp for the clutch from renault is £60+vat

fittings the expensive part, its not hard just time consuming and wouldnt bother trying it yourself if you have no or limited mechanical skill/tools.

ah ok cheers martin (supercharging eh?? lol)

alex mate, yeah its starting to feel a bit weird, the more i think about it :S its been doing it for a while, but i have the worst clutching method in the world, im a half clutcher :S meaning i lift up half sometimes so it makes things smoother and constantly use it to stay on hills rather than handbrake :S

shes on just under 40k now :)

paul said that its because the bite point is abovethe brake pedal now lol :(

My 03 Expression is on 57K on the original clutch I think. The biting point is as high as a kite.

Can anyone recommend anywhere decent in the Midlands to fit a new one?

Just because the biting point is high it doesn't necessarily mean the clutch is kaput. Clios just seem to have high biting points.

yeah but its going and has been for a while, remember i was on the strines meet a while ago and i had to stop on a hill. went into first and it really wouldnt allow the power on to go up the hill. clutch kinda stuck half way and slowly built up revs and then clunked into correctness :S

Mines right at the top, definatly higher than the brake pedal, makes abit of a smell if you do a full throttle start too! I reckon the cable may have stretched on mine, im sure they are good for 100k, mines on 57k now.

If yours is doing that up hills its definatly slipping though.

mine lasted to 115k when it got very stiff and a high biting point. then it started slipping and slipping and then by the time i managed to get a day off to change it, i had lost all drive lol. worth changing the cable at the same time.
