New Cup arrived today.

I have a couple of questions for other cup owners. Firstly, how many tyre inflator thingys should I have? Mine came with only one. Secondly, shouldnt I have some cup badges on the door pillars? Mine seems to be sadly missing them. :(

Oh, and the bloody delivery driver kerbed one of the alloys outside my house. He probably couldnt have made more of a mess of it if hed tried. It now has a 12" long gouge in it. Muppet. I was less than happy to say the least but the dealers have agreed to sort me out a new one thankfully.

Beyond that, took it out for a bit of a run (keeping below 4k revs of course ;)) and Im well pleased with it so far; couldnt help but drive round with a big cheesy grin on my face. I cant wait til its run in properly then I can have some proper fun.

they should have two cans of foam.

should have cup 172 on the pillars too, youll find it hard to keep to the running in period, thats why i gave up and started giving it some :eek:P

Check youve got the cup splitter as well. Mostly enjoy it, i remeber collecting my 172. Memorable day...

Thanks for the replies guys. Looks like Ill have to get on to the dealer about the missing bits.

Looking on the positive side of things though, my cup is about 0.4754 kg lighter than a standard one cos of the missing bits. Should be good for at least a millisecond off my 0-60 time.;)

lol.

mate - if you think it makes you grin below 4k (which on mine is the point that it starts pulling at) then you will foooooookin love it when you get it above that.

i also remember the first time i drove one.

awwwww the memories..........

Mine didnt come with the 172 Cup bagdes on the door pillar either. Ive ordered some through my dealer - theyre only £2 each.

I picked my new Cup up on Wednesday...

The "Cup" badges on the pillars do not come stuck on the car from the factory, they get stuck on (wonky in my case) by the dealers. Same with the front splitter, which is in a bag on the back seat and needs fitting.

Should be 2 cans of foam in the spare wheels well and one can is not enough!

So far I have been very restrained and not gone past 4000rpm, but I am gonna be gentle for the first few hundred miles, as my mate just nailed his 172 from day 1 and that sounds f*cked on cold startup now after only 2 years!

Blimey Rich you picked it up on Wednesday and youre still running it in? When I got mine I just headed for Scotland, found a hotel and drove home the next morning - job done 700 miles in less than 24 hours!

Good man - nice to see someone doing it properly.

My cup had 6,000 miles on when I bought it so its been given plenty since day 1. Never looked back.

The nototrious missing black spoiler and cup 172 badges on the side seem to be happeneing at an alarming rate.

had mine from new and luckily it had all the usual bit that are missing actually fitted. Reno can get it right on rare occassions.

Were the badges supposedly standard fitment? All the pics of cars in magazines dont have them therefore I assumed they were extra. If they were supposed to come with the car then when they arrive at the dealer I will try and get them for free.

They are standard on the car. The press cars were the first cars produced and at that time the badges werent available as they are fitted only to UK cars. However, all customer cars must have them

Well mine was registered in Dec02 and is a UK customer car but doesnt have em. So I suppose I can claim them for free

The Cup badges are £2.01 each and the part number is 7711291177

I have them on mine, but the yellow "172" bits have dropped off already, but Im not bothered as the chrome "Cup" bit is what I really want.

Ordered another one to put on the boot, under the Clio badge! ;)
